Brad D. Johnson, 58, of Farmersburg, passed away at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 in Kindred Southwood Healthcare. He was born in Terre Haute on August 21, 1956 to Fred D. Johnson and Loretta M. Brown Johnson. Brad was a landscape & design supervisor for A2 Landscape & Design in Indianapolis. He is survived by his companion and soul mate of 40 years Chris, as well as his two sons Zachary Johnson (& wife Misty) and Zachary’s children Dalton & Blayne ( and Blayne’s mother Amy Halter), and Ian Johnson (& companion Krystal Knepp and her 3 children Jace, Jayleigh, and Maverick). Also surviving is his father, Fred D. Johnson, his mother-in-law, Norma Boyll, and three sisters; Anita Bryant, Cherie Montgomery, and Dianna Johnson. Other survivors include special Aunts and Uncle Ray & Linda Brown, and Aunt Millie Chambers, and several other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, as well as his dog Maggot, with whom he had a love/hate relationship. He was preceded in death by his mother, Loretta Johnson. Brad was a US Navy Veteran, having served from 1974-1976 and was on the USS Valdez. His memberships include ABATE of Indiana, Region 12 of Sullivan County. Prior to working in the landscaping business, Brad was a well-liked bartender, and had also worked in the heating & air conditioning business. His favorite thing to do was joke and inter-act with his landscaping crew, and was well known for his humorous wit, and his love for motorcycles, but his real love was his family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 1:00 PM in DeBaun Springhill Chapel. The family will receive friends and family on Saturday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the funeral home. The family would also like to thank the Hope Center, as well as Dr. Darren Brucken, Dr. A. Singh, Dr. Alex Walker, and Dr. Thomas Schmitz, and all the nurses at the Kindred Rehabilitation Center who went above and beyond.

Kenneth Eugene Story, 68, of Terre Haute passed away on December 13, 2014. He was born on May 27, 1946 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Clifford Kenneth Story and Marie Esther (Johnson) Story. Kenneth served in the United States Army, and he was a lifetime member of the VFW. In the 80’s, he was the minister for a church in Pimento, Indiana. He drove a truck for over 40 years. Most importantly, Kenneth was a family man who always put his family first. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 36 years Juanita (McCutchan) Story; sons Clifford Kenneth Story and Andrew Eugene Story (Angela Rader); daughters April Story (Jacob Bennett), Trina Story, Candy Story, Sandy Bills, and Shellie Wilkie; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters Molly Story and Becky Gallez; and a niece and nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother Delores (Bryant) Story; and brothers Larry Ray Story and Andrew Harmon. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 1:00p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana 47804. Pastor Dustin Spitler will be officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00a.m. until service time. Lori D. Lawhead, 43, of Terre Haute, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014 in Union Hospital. Lori was born June 30, 1971 in Terre Haute to Jack Losier and Leslie Dean Losier. She was a graduate of Terre Haute North High School. Lori was formerly employed at Normal Life. She was a member of Maryland Community Church, loved to play Bingo, spend time with family and friends and play with her dogs. Lori was preceded in death by her father, Jack Losier and her daughter, Michelle Lucas. She is survived by her mother, Leslie Losier of Terre Haute; her son, Tyler Lawhead; and Tyler’s father, Sid Davis, all of Terre Haute. Lori is also survived by her sister, Bobbi Banta and her husband, Toby; her brothers, Leslie Losier and his wife, Tammy and Jackie Losier, all of Terre Haute; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Services will be Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Almeda Mae Hudson, 91 of Terre Haute, passed away at 10:49 AM on Friday, December 19, 2014 in Union Hospital. She was born in Terre Haute on August 10, 1923, to Riley Boyll and Bessie Cottrel Boyll. Almeda was a housewife and a member of the Youngstown United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Hudson in 2010, as well as a granddaughter, Tracey Adams, and nine siblings. She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Farley and Barbara Presnell, and by one son, Steve Hudson (wife Holly). Also surviving are her grandchildren; Stacey Matlock (husband Derek), Jamie Willis, Jeff Presnell (wife Rhiannon), and Jenna Hudson. In addition, she is also survived by her great grandchildren; Dallas Matlock, Riley Matlock, Collin Matlock, Taylor Willis, Austin Willis, Cody Adams, Kyle Adams, Colten Adams, Logan Presnell, and Lane Presnell, and one great great granddaughter, Madelyn Adams. Almeda is also survived by two sisters, Mary Walton and Reba Williams, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Linda Snider officiating. Burial will follow in Hull Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, December 23, 2014 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM in DeBaun Springhill Chapel.

Marilyn J. Grady went to be with the Lord on December 6, 2014 at Union Hospital. Marilyn was born on November 24, 1932 to Floyd and Drucilla (Branch) Shelton in Terre Haute, and was one of four children. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph M. Grady, Jr.; brother, Lavander Paschal and son, Marvin Bayless. Marilyn is survived by sister Janet Benning and brother Jerry Shelton of Terre Haute; sons, David Shelton of Westampton, NJ and James (Monica) Johnson of Westerville, OH; daughter Lori Wells of Aurora, IL; grandsons Joseph Bayless and Nathaniel Noble; granddaughters Allison Shelton, Nicole Bayless, Lauren, Chloe, Jaidyn and Sophia Johnson; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Marilyn was a 1950 graduate of Wiley High School. Upon graduation, she moved to Columbus, Ohio and later Yellow Springs, Ohio to seek better job opportunities. Marilyn found work in food service at Antioch College and as a Computer Key Punch Operator at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton. During her residence in Yellow Springs, Marilyn had the opportunity to meet Coretta Scott, a student at Antioch and Rod Serling, creator of “The Twilight Zone”, and a local resident of Yellow Springs. Marilyn returned to Terre Haute in 1960 and worked as a Press Operator at the Columbia Records plant on Fruitridge Avenue until 1972. She entered the healthcare field after leaving Columbia Records and worked as a Nurse’s Aide at both St. Anthony and Union Hospitals. Marilyn treated numerous patients over her twenty-three year tenure in healthcare. Because of the kindness and encouragement she consistently gave to those she cared for, many still remember her today. After Marilyn decided to leave healthcare, she was hired as the Assistant to the Administrator at The Minority Health Coalition of Vigo County. She also worked as a Salesperson at Viquesney’s office supply store. Besides being with family and friends, Marilyn enjoyed reading and traveling. She was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Marilyn was passionate about writing plays for the church and directing them with the Shiloh “PrimeTime Players”. She loved her church family and received love in kind; especially during her illness later in life. Visitation will be Friday, December 19, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th Street with funeral services on Saturday, December 20th starting at 11:30 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, 2401 7th Avenue. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery; Reverend Michael Russell will be officiating. Earl Edward Young, Jr., 57 of Shelburn, passed away at 8:50 AM on Friday, December 19, 2014 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Terre Haute on February 27, 1957 to Earl Edward Young, Sr. and Lois Wright Young. He was a retired O.T.C. Tire Technician from Triple S Tires. Earl was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Lynn Gilkerson Young on January 12, 2002. Earl is survived by his children Tabatha Carrithers (husband Andrew), and children Ema, Skyler, and Kyleigh, Earl Young III (wife April), & daughter Abigail, and Christina Carrico (husband Billy), and children Faith and Xander. Also surviving are two brothers, John Young and James Young, and his best friend—his dog Rusty. He was a member of the Thunderbird Fire Department and former member of the Sullivan County Red Cross. Funeral services will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 6:00 PM, with Rev. Mark Grubbs officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Monday from 3:00 – 6:00 PM in DeBaun Springhill Chapel.

She was born on February 18, 1951 in Arkansas to Thurlo Leon Dickerson and Annie (George) Dickerson Grayless, they have preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her husband Ron Walls, brother Howard Dickerson, stepfather Harold Grayless, and lifelong best friends Dick and Rita Barton. Survivors include her daughter Wendy Sanders and her husband Mike; a son Joshua Walls and his companion Nakoa Baker; grandchildren Zachary Allen Sanders, Seth Michael Sanders, Aaliyah Nicole “Pumphandle” Walls, and Lyric Joshua Walls. Her surviving siblings include Juanita Killen, Henry Dickerson, Carl Dickerson, Rick Dickerson, Bonnie Davis, Lonnie Dickerson, Nancy Dickerson, Gregory Allen, Sammie Joe, Brenda Kessinger, and Harold Grayless Jr. She also has several nieces and nephews. Laura loved to mushroom hunt and cook, and attended Maryland Community Church. She worked at Maurizio’s Pizzeria and later retired from Wal-Mart deli. Funeral services are scheduled for 7:00 pm Friday December 26, 2014 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Dr. with Dr. Vince McFarland officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 pm until service time. Cremation will follow and burial will take place at a later date. The family asks that donations be made along with flowers.

She was the bridal consultant for many years at Root’s, retiring in 1988. Jeanette was born January 22, 1926 in Michigan City, IN to Claude Keller and Nora (Birginske) Keller. She is survived by a son: Roy Templeton and his wife Mary of Louisville, KY; 2 daughters: Carol Marietta and Gerald Dix of Terre Haute, and Phyllis Polizotto and husband Kim of Greenfield, IN; 4 grandsons: Larry Marietta and wife Michelle, Brock Marietta and Megan Rost, Todd Polizotto and wife Mindy, and Kyle Polizotto and wife Jeannie; and great granddaughters: Molly Marietta, Maggie Marietta, Zoe Polizotto, and Mia Polizotto; sister-in-law: Elizabeth Keller, and a niece and several nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert L. Templeton who died November 14, 2010 and a brother John Keller. Jeanette was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, the Finders Seekers Sunday School class, and was a member and past president of the Vigo County Quilters Guild. Visitation will be Friday December 26, 2014 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm in DeBaun Funeral Home, Wabash Avenue Chapel, 2425 Wabash Ave. with funeral services at 2:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Scott Johnson officiating.
