Patrick Dennis Sullivan, 67, of Terre Haute went to be with our Lord on November 23, 2014. He was born in Terre Haute on October 2, 1947 to Joseph Sullivan and Mary Drisko Sullivan. Pat was a longtime employee of A.D.T. Security and a generous supporter of many community organizations. Pat was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Diane Wertz. Pat is survived by his two kids William Sullivan and his wife Andrea Sullivan of Champagne, IL; Kimberly Sullivan Burger and her husband Cory Burger of Terre Haute, IN; grandchildren Brody and Parker Sullivan of Champagne, IL; siblings Ronald Sullivan and his wife Judith Sullivan of Wilmington, DE; Michael Sullivan and his wife Janet Sullivan of Terre Haute, IN.; and his brother-in-law, Bruce Wertz of Terre Haute, IN. He is survived by a large and loving family in and around the Wabash Valley Pat is a graduate of Shulte High School and served his country in the Air Force. Pat spent over 31 years working for A.D.T. Security and devoted much of his free time actively involved in both the Knights of Columbus and Casa, as well as, a life long member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church. A life long lover of racing, sports, and fishing, Pat was a kind and caring man who brought laughter and joy to all those he knew. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1807 Poplar Street, Terre Haute, Saturday November 29, 2014 at 10:00 am with a memorial reception to follow in the Family Life Center at St. Patrick’s Church. Raymond G. Johnson, 86 of Terre Haute, passed away at 2:00 AM on Monday, December 1, 2014 in Springhill Village. He was born in Rockford, IL on June 20, 1928 to Ray Johnson and Margaret Morris Johnson. Raymond was an Army Veteran and retired Operating Engineer . He is survived by his wife Mary Furrer Johnson—whom he married May 29, 1948. Also surviving are his four children and their spouses; Mary Dugan (Tom), Raymond G. Johnson, Jr. (Donna), Donald R. Johnson (Chyrel), and William P. “Mike” Johnson (Myrna). Also surviving is his brother William E. “Earl” Johnson (Patricia), four grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local # 841 and Riley American Legion Post # 328. Funeral services will be held in DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Jeremy Scot Leibacher
Jeremy Scot Leibacher, beloved son of Scot and Jennifer Leibacher, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014 after a courageous six and a half year battle with leukemia. Jeremy was born December 30, 1992 in Terre Haute, IN. Jeremy graduated in 2011 from Terre Haute South Vigo with academic honors. Jeremy was a member of National Honor Society and co-founder of Terre Haute South’s Make A Wish Club. Jeremy was a lifelong Boy Scout and had earned the prestigious rank of Eagle. Jeremy had hopes and aspirations of attending IUPUI and majoring in neuroscience/pre-med. He dreamt of being a doctor of internal medicine. Jeremy is survived by his parents, his sister and best friend, Jillian Leibacher, his paternal grandmother, Priscilla Leibacher and many aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Clark, and paternal grandfather, John Joseph (Jack) Leibacher. Funeral services will be held in DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM, with Father Rick Ginther officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield, IN. John L. Trader, 81, of Terre Haute and formerly of North Carolina, passed away November 28, 2014 in his residence. John was born on September 14, 2033 in Terre Haute to Luther Lee Trader and Evelyn L. Mahoney Trader. John was retired from the U.S. Navy where he served as a Chief Petty Officer as well as a corpsman. He retired as a Physician’s Assistant following his Navy career. John was a member of the Lutheran Church and a graduate of Butler University and held an MBA. He enjoyed swimming, traveling and golf. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Mary F. Sappington who passed away in July of 2005, a daughter, Cindy Trader and a granddaughter, Amber Norton. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Greiner Trader whom he married July 11, 2006, three daughters; Cathy Goshart and her husband Steve of Fort Wayne, IN., Connie Norton and Cheri Sommer both of Wilmington, NC. One step – son, Michael Heithecker of Terre Haute. Five grandchildren; Holly, Ben, Shandry, John and Zac. Great Grandchildren; Tyler, Kendall and Marielle. He is also survived by two cousin; Harold Edward Taylor who he considered a brother and his wife Leona, and Carolyn “Sis” Ferand, both of Terre Haute. Violet A. Smothers, formerly of Farmersburg, passed away November 30, 2014 at Rochester, IN where she had lived for the past seven years. She was born in Terre Haute on April 26, 1931 to Jacob and Eva Graves and they have preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her husband, Jack Smothers, in 1997. She had been a waitress and was a homemaker. Her survivors include two daughters, Debbie Quick and her husband John, Kathy Cooprider and her husband Ron; four sons Michael Smothers and his wife Peggy, Jack Smothers and Pam Martin, Terry Smothers, and Kenny Smothers and his wife Anita. She has ten grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. She was also preceded by numerous sisters and brothers and three grandchildren. Marian Dorothy Laut Danek, 100, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday November 29, 2014 in Westridge Health Care. She taught music and piano for many years. Marian was born June 19, 1914 in Indianapolis to Henry W. Laut and Marian (Smith) Laut. She is survived by a step-son, John Danek and his wife Encina of Mission, TX; two step-grandchildren, Deidre Danek and Victor Danek and friend Marge Ditteon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Danek who died December 20, 1996. Troy D. Howard, 48, of Terre Haute passed away suddenly on December 3, 2014 at his residence. He was born on November 23, 1966 in Brazil, IN to John and Deanna (Lee) Howard. He had been employed at Industrial Supply Company. He belonged to the Eagles, Moose, and Master Gardeners’ of Vigo County. He enjoyed gardening, loved taking his family on vacation, spending time with his pugs, watching racing and going to NASCAR races, and most of all he loved spending time with his grandson, Matthew East. Troy graduated in 1985 from the first class graduating class of Northview High School and went on to receive his associates degree in accounting from Ivy Tech College. His survivors include his parents of Brazil, his wife, Merrie Lou (Harting) whom he married on July 31, 1998; four sons, Devin Howard and fiancée Katie Walsh of Brazil, Dylan Howard of Brazil, Ryan East and wife Krystal of Terre Haute and Jeremy East and wife Millae of Terre Haute, grandson, Matthew East and several aunts and uncles. He was preeceded in death by a brother Jeffrey Howard. Memorial services will be in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. He was born July 27, 1933 in Terre Haute to William Francis Kelly and Dica Elizabeth (Thompson) Kelly. He had attended St. Patrick Catholic Church and had been a member of Knights of Columbus. Jim was one of six children, his siblings were, Carolyn, Tom, Richard, Bill, and Chuck. Dallas L. Hadley, 87 of Terre Haute, passed away at 4:18 PM on Friday, December 5, 2014 in Union Hospital. He was born in Vincennes, IN on April 29, 1927 to Robert C. Hadley and Gladys Pigg Hadley. Dallas was a retired meter reader for Terre Haute Gas Corp. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Doris Keller Hadley, whom he married January 8, 1949. Also surviving are his two daughters, Debbie Hadley and Dianne Headley, special cousin LeeAnn Rafter (husband Dave), and cousins Helen Floeh and family, Tom, Beth, and Barb Rodenbeck and their families, and Virginia Davis. In addition, he is survived by a special friend, Bill Berry and many other friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Weaver, aunts Frances Funcannon and Lillian Wilson, cousins Chuck Funcannon, Charles Wilson, Dennis Wilson, Lillian Kiger, and Maxine Buckes. Dallas was a member of 8th Ave. Baptist Church—where he also served as a Deacon, was the recipient of the Wabash Valley Labor Council’s award for Man of The Year, was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, The Lighthouse Mission, and Providence Medical Group, and was former Secretary of the United Steel Workers of America Local of Terre Haute. Funeral services will be held at DeBaun Wabash Ave. Chapel on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Dick Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, December 8, 2014 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in DeBaun Wabash Ave. Chapel. The family suggests memorial contributions are made to 8th Ave. Baptist Church, in his memory.

Sandy Mead, 72 of Terre Haute, passed away at 10:19 PM on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in IU Medical Center in Indianapolis. She was born in Johnson City, NY on January 21, 1942 to Wallingford Jamieson and Dorothy Coy Jamieson.
Sandy, wife, mom, mother in law, grandma, aunt, sister, and a follower of Jesus, found her true calling in teaching, guiding, assisting, and working alongside the children and young adults at church. This gave her an abundance of energy, purpose, and joy! For this, her family and all the youth whose lives she touched shall be eternally grateful.
Sandy, a true friend to many, always brought anyone into her home and immediately treated them as family. She always helped us to see the positive and bright side of everything. She brought out the best in all of us. For that we all will be eternally grateful.
Sandy is survived by her husband of 40 years Stephen Mead, her sons Karl Irving and Kevin Irving ( and his wife Helma Irving) and daughter Carrie Mead, and 2 Grandchildren Josephine and Liam. She is now able to join her 1st son Daniel Irving and father Wallingford Jamieson to watch over us all. She is also survived by her mom, Dorothy Jamieson, and sisters Linda McCormick and Donna Jamieson, brother Charles “Coy” Jamieson.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, December 8, 2014 in DeBaun Wabash Ave. Chapel, 2425 Wabash Ave., from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been chosen with a Celebration of Her Life & burial of ashes will occur at a later date. Virginia Aird passed peacefully in her sleep early November 21, 2014. She was born in Harlan County, Kentucky on August 9th, 1924, to Nelda and John Dapueve. Her parents and one brother, James Campagna, preceded her in death. She is survived by one sister, Inez Varda and 2 sons, Bill Lee (BJ) Jackson (and wife Diana), and Michael G Aird (and wife Debra). She was “Noni Virg” to her 7 grandchildren: Shane Jackson (and wife Rachel), Amberlee Hooker (and husband Kirk), Lyndsay Gonzalez, Amanda Aird, Michael Aird Jr., Amy Aird and Skylar Aird. She had 6 great-grandchildren: Harper and Chaney Jackson, Jackson Hooker, McKynlee Ayalla, Mason and Landon Fehn. She is also survived by a large extended family, nieces and nephews and their families, and a special friend Phyllis Sanders.
Virg lived part of her life in Detroit and moved to Terre Haute and resided here from 1963-1972. During part of that time she was co-owner of Carosi’s Italian Villa. Virg retired to Stuart, FL and continued her active life; but always returned to Terre Haute to summer with her growing family. She returned here to live out her life closer to family, where she was under the special care of daughter-in-law Diana, and her sons.
At her request, no services were held.
