hansen, louise photoLouise Brimhall Hansen (78) died in her home on Sunday, November 16th, 2014, after over six months in hospice care. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dr. Uwe J. Hansen, professor emeritus of physics at Indiana State University, their daughter Ruth Louise Hollander and husband Steven Hollander of Salt Lake City, Utah, and son Rulon Mark Hansen, and wife Jodi Lynn Hansen and two grandsons Brendon Timothy Hansen (17) and Jacob Ray Hansen (15) of Eagle Mountain Utah. She is an award winning artist and musician. With her passing, Indiana only has 4 living members of the American Watercolor Society. She has exhibited widely throughout the US and in Germany and received many awards. She played bass in the Utah Symphony, the Arlington Symphony and for 25 years in the Terre Haute Symphony. She served as president of the Terre Haute Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has taught art in the Vigo County public school system, as well as at Indiana State University. A memorial service will be held in the meetinghouse of the Wabash Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1849 N 6 ½ Str. on Wednesday, November 26, at 11:00 AM, with a visitation at 10:00 AM. DeBaun Funeral Home, Springhill Chapel assisted with arrangements.

elliott, irene photoIrene Elliott, 84, of Terre Haute passed away peacefully Thursday, November 20, 2014 in Union Hospital. Irene was born February 28, 1930 in Oklahoma to Tony Kodrich and Louise (Godlar) Kodrich. She is survived by her husband, Gene Elliott; daughters, Anita Sue Modesitt and husband Tom of Brazil, IN and Gina Layer and husband Mark of Terre Haute; son, Bruce A. Elliott and wife Brenda of Brazil, IN; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Irene was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved taking care of her grandchildren and making her special grilled cheese sandwiches for them. She loved to cook and sew, both which she was wonderful at. She loved spending time gardening and just being active outdoors. Many times when she couldn’t sleep at night she could be found reading a book. She was an avid bowler for many years at Vigo Bowl. She also had been the bookkeeper for her husband Gene’s gas station/ U-Haul business for many years. She was loved and will be missed by all of her family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday November 22, 2014 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in DeBaun Funeral Home, Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Dr. with a memorial service at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Deb Moore-Hardin officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Prairie Creek West Lawn Cemetery. The family suggests that for those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (envelopes will be available at the funeral home).

Roberta Ann Morlan, 71, of Terre Haute passed away on November 19, 2014. She was born on January 27, 1943 to George Cesinger Jr. and Norma Irene (Server) Cesinger. Roberta worked as a Surgical Technologist for 40 years at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She retired from the Terre Haute City Clerk’s Office. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She also enjoyed playing Bunko and gossiping with her friends. Roberta was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, whose life revolved around her grandchildren’s activities. She will be dearly missed by many. Roberta is survived by her husband of 44 years Robert “Bob” Paul Morlan; daughter Christine Stevens and her husband Pete; son Robert M. Morlan and his wife Dana; grandchildren Xavier Wheeler, Jaret Morlan, Logan Morlan, and Bodhi Morlan; brother Robert Cesinger and his wife Kim; and several nephews and a niece. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 1:00p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana 47804. Norman David Neiswinger, 91, of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014. He was born September 17, 1923, to Leonard Cletus Neiswinger and Edna May (Johnson) Neiswinger in Terre Haute. Norman worked as a crew dispatcher for the Pennsylvania Railroad/Conrail in Terre Haute and Indianapolis and retired in 1984. He was a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and the Indianapolis Murat Shrine. He enjoyed gardening, coin collecting, traveling, and spending winters in Florida. Norman is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary Ann (Gaiter) Neiswinger , daughters Dr. Sandra Kelley of Terre Haute and Dr. Karen Hallett-Rupp of Bloomington, their husbands Paul Kelley and John Rupp; grandchildren K. Kim Kelley-Tunis of Atlanta GA, Jay Kelley of Indianapolis, David Kelley of Charlotte NC, Nicole Hallett of New Haven CT, Devon Hallett of Indianapolis, Jonathan Rupp of Anchorage AL, Stephan Rupp of Bloomington, and their spouses Brian Tunis, Keri Kelley, Linda Kelley, Jonathan Manes and January Scott; great-grandchildren Alex, Olivia, and Sophia Kelley of Indianapolis, Kaelan and Andrew Tunis of Atlanta GA, Jillian and Parker Kelley of Charlotte NC and Ezra Hallett-Manes of New Haven CT. Also surviving are a brother Weldon Neiswinger of New Carlisle OH and a sister Jeraldine Ford of Mansfield IN. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25,2014 at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, with visitation from 12:00 p.m. until the time of services. David Lee Price, age 71 of Terre Haute, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014 in Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Terre Haute on September 28, 1943 to Fred Robert Price and Hazel Marie Arnett Price. David is survived by his wife Sharon R. Perry Price, and by his two sons, James Price and Jeffrey Price. He is also survived by his sister, Jane Mathias, as well as his five grandchildren; Susan Price, James Price II, Gage Price, Abigail Price, and Sarah Price. David retired from Weston Paper in 1998 due to an injury at work, and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Moose Lodge # 1009, and The Boy Scouts Council of America, and had served as Assistant Scoutmaster as well as Scoutmaster of Troop 434 of Terre Haute. Previously, he had been a member of Kiwanis and was active with Terre Town Baseball in his early years. He loved to cruise and travel, and most importantly enjoyed family and friends. He was a family man who was loved by family and friends. Funeral services will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Bert Arnett officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, with military rites provided by Krietenstein American Legion Post # 104. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday from 11:00 AM -1:00 PM in DeBaun Springhill Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to either Boy Scout Troop # 434 or Moose Lodge # 1009, in his memory.

Judy Lea Eisman, 63, of Rosedale,passed away on Saturday November 22, 2014 in Union Hospital. Judy was born in Indianapolis on May 22, 1951. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, William and Betty Strum Harrison. Judy was a devoted wife, mother and nana whose life revolved around her family. She was a quiet pillar of strength whose calm, gentle and generous spirit will be greatly missed. Her spare time was spent mothering, solving her favorite puzzle books, painting and reading. Judy is survived by her husband of 47 years, David; son, Scott; daughters; Ginger, Jeanene and Kimberly. Grandchildren; Audrey, Shareya, Gregory, Phillip, David, Lacey, Dalton, Neil, Jocelyn, Michaela and Michael. Great Grandchildren; Makena, Nathaniel, Camilla and Esmai. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday November 26, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN., 47804. Cremation will follow. Michael D. Myers, 70, of Terre Haute passed away Sunday November 23, 2014 at 11:20 pm in Union Hospital. He had worked in the trucking industry for over 50 years. Michael was born October 14, 1944 in Kokomo, IN to Charles Myers and Norma (Holloway) Myers. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kathryn (Krocza) Myers; daughters, Jami Michelle Myers Selzer and her husband Kevin of Ft. Belvoir, VA, Krystal Jane Myers Mosko and husband Michael of Waldorf, MD, Kimberly Suzanne Myers Greis of Mooresville, IN, and Kelly Jan Myers Kirkpatrick and husband Eric of Lakewood, CO; grandchildren, Nicholas Collins, Tyler Schroder, Alex Schroder, Katelyn Greis, and Annie Kirkpatrick; sister, Judy Porter of Martinsville, IN; brothers, Charles Myers of Martinsville, IN and Robert Pryor and wife Cathy of Danville, IN and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gregory James Myers who passed away in 1988, and brothers, Danny Pryor and Ronald Pryor. Michael proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Lawton-Byrum Post #972 VFW, Wayne Newton Post #346 American Legion, Marine Corps Association, and the Senior Golf League of Terre Haute. He was also a member of the United Methodist Memorial Church. Visitation will be Saturday November 29, 2014 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm in DeBaun Funeral Home, Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Dr. with funeral services at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Randy Butler officiating. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery with military graveside honors provided by Wayne Newton American Legion Post #346. C. Wesley Lambert, 88, of Terre Haute departed this life Monday, November 24, 2014 in Union Hospital. He was born February 5, 1926 in Albion, Edwards County, Illinois, to Kelsey Clarence Lambert and Ina Naomi Fawkes Lambert. Wesley’s parents, his wife of 41 years Consuelo Ernestine Reynaud Lambert, his brother George Lee Lambert and daughter in law Debra Wenthe Macke Lambert have preceded him in death. Wesley is survived by one nephew Danny Lee and wife Norma of Muncie, Indiana, two sons, Paul W. Lambert of Valparaiso, Indiana; Kevin A. Lambert and wife Eileen of Albuquerque, New Mexico; daughter Camille M. Lambert and husband David L. Randall of Terre Haute, Indiana; his eight grandchildren Courtney, Geoffrey, Casey, Kelly, Katelyn, Kristen, Kelsey, and Tobin and his five great grandchildren. Westley began his post secondary education at Western Illinois State University in 1946, and completed his Bachelor of Science in Speech at Northwestern University in 1950. He earned a Master of Arts in Communications from Michigan State University in 1953 and his Doctorate in Education from the University of Florida in 1970. During the 50’s and 60’s he held a variety of positions with commercial and education television stations and production centers in Kentucky, Missouri, Michigan, Louisiana, Texas and Florida. Wesley had college teaching experience in theater, radio and television production, instructional technology and media administration that spanned a 32 year period at five Universities. He retired from Indiana State University in 1991, as Director of the Audio-Visual Center and Assistant Professor Emeritus of Education. Wesley was a Navy veteran of WWII, serving as a Radioman Third Class with the Commander of the Philippine Sea Frontier; was a Vigil member of the Order-of-the-Arrow, Boy Scouts of America; for 22 years he was the Executive Manager of the Sight-Loss Support Group of the Wabash Valley, and was a driver for the Good Cheer Club for the Blind. Wesley was an active member of St. Joseph University Parish since 1972 giving his time to serve on the Parish Council, the Maintenance Committee, co-chaired the church Restoration Committee, the Terre Haute Deanery Pastoral Council, multiple terms on the Board of Directors for the Greater Terre Haute Church Federation, and was the perpetual shepherd of St. Joseph’s Sanctuary sound systems. His particular joys were being Project Manager and Chair of the Baptismal Font Committee, his tenure of the Liturgy Commission, his 12 years as Coordinator of Eucharistic Ministers and conducting guided tours of his beloved historic St. Joseph’s Church. Visitation is Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana; Donna McKenzie will conduct prayer service at 5:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph University Parish Church, 113 South 5th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana with Friar Fred Pasche presiding. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. After the service friends are asked to come to the Gregorian room for food and memories with the family. At a later date Wesley’s cremains will be interred during a private ceremony at Graceland Cemetery in Albion, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made in Wesley’s name to any of his favorite charities. Melvin Edward Holton, 70, of Terre Haute, passed away in his residence with his loving family by his side on November 23, 2014. He was born on April 15, 1944 to Clarence Holton and Harriet (Bixby) Holton in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. Melvin served in the United State Army for 2 years. He was a member of Northside Christian Church for 30 years. He was a heavy equipment operator and traveled all over the United States. He collected coins and antiques. Melvin owned an antique shop in Terre Haute for 5 years. He was known for keeping his word, much like his father. Melvin had a strong work ethic, and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother Iva Holton. He is survived by his wife of 2 years Nancy (Pigg) Holton; son James Holton; daughters Valarie Osowski, Lisa Cassidy, and her husband John; brothers Charles Holton, Leslie Holton, Walter Holton, Larry Homme, Lowell Homme, and Dennis Macklin; sisters Margaret Hegland, Anita Copper, Patricia Holton, Linda Garwood, Cheryl Holton, Janice Mallo, Francine Homme, and Aleta Homme; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, stepchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be on Tuesday November 25, 2014 at 11:00a.m. in North Terre Haute North Christian Church, 3133 E Park Avenue, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47805. Pastor Matt Larimer will be officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 10:00a.m. until service time. Burial will be on Friday in Butterfield Cemetery in Reedsburg, Wisconsin.
