Paul Dudley Hightower, 67, of Terre Haute, passed away Tuesday August 5, 2014 in Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center-Southwood. Paul was born March 23, 1947 in Bowling Green Kentucky to Dudley Clarence Hightower and Sylvia Pearl Simmons Hightower. Paul was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a retired full professor in the Communication Department at Indiana State University, where he was selected by his peers to receive the Caleb Mills Distinguished Teaching Award. Paul was very well respected and loved by his students. He had previously worked at the Tribune Star. Paul received his Bachelors degree from Western Kentucky and his Masters and PhD from The University of Iowa. Paul was an avid photographer, loved to travel visiting many countries around the world. Paul was very involved in genealogy and was the publisher of the Hightower Newsletter. Paul is survived by his wife, Jeanne Jackson Hightower whom he married July 6 of 1971. He is also survived by two sons; Bradley Jackson Hightower and his wife Caitlyn and Brandon Jackson Hightower and his wife Whitney Jo. He is survived by two grandchildren; Trysten Gage Hightower and Rylynn Jo Hightower. Memorial Services will be held on Friday August 29th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1845 North 6 ½ Street, Terre Haute, IN., 47804.
