Nancy A. Forsyth, 69 of Terre Haute, passed away at 9:55 AM on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Terre Haute on October 20, 1944 to Max A. Forsyth and Lovella Joers Forsyth. She began teaching in Indianapolis at Mc Arthur Elementary School, followed by Perry Meridian Middle School. She moved to the Terre Haute area to teach for the Vigo County School Corporation at Otter Creek Middle School, Rio Grande Elementary School, DeVaney Elementary School and retired from Woodrow Wilson Middle School as a sixth grade science teacher, having taught for 39 years. Nancy was a member of the Indiana Audubon Society, Unity Presbyterian Church, and was very involved with Planned Parenthood of Greater Indiana. She is survived by her son, Larry Forsyth (& wife Becky), and her daughter, Regina Hill (& husband Chuck). Also surviving are a sister, Karen Henman (& husband Karl), and grandchildren; Andrew Byrd, Macey Hill, Kasey Hill, Laci Hill, Kellen Forsyth, Kali Forsyth, Nick Orr, Chandler Orr, and Lindsey Claxon. Other survivors include her nieces and nephews; Kathryn and Brandon Henman, and Abby and Liam Arsenault, and a brother-in-law, Allen Arsenault. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Diane Forsyth. A Memorial Service will be held in DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 2:00 PM, with visitation prior from 12:00 – 2:00 PM. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been chosen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Audubon Society, in her memory.
