Annabel Mars Morris, 96, of Terre Haute passed away Friday, November 15, 2012 in Greenwood, IN. She was a retired secretary for the Vigo County School Corporation. Annabel was born November 24, 1915 in Vigo County to George William Mars and Dessa (Frakes) Mars. She married Ransford Morris, February 17, 1940. Survivors include daughters: Paula Cooprider and her husband, Randy of Bloomington and Kathy Peigh and her husband, Damon of Indianapolis; grandchildren: Amy Walker and her husband John, Chris Cooprider and his wife Melissa, Karen Allen and her husband Steve, Carrie Colvin, Erin Carr and her husband Brandon, and April Peigh the wife of Annabel’s deceased grandson Joel; 14 great grandchildren, her sister, Wilma Harlan and her husband Burch of Terre Haute, and a brother-in-law, George Fleschner. Annabel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ransford who died March 26, 2000, sisters, Dorline Stuckey and Mary LaDean Roberts, and brother, William George “Jack” Mars, her sisters-in-law, Pauline Holmes and Irene Fleschner, and brother-in-law, Bill Morris. She was a 1933 graduate of Honey Creek High School and a 1935 graduate of Brown Business College, a member of Prairieton United Methodist Church and also Past Worthy Matron of the Prairieton Order of the Eastern Star.
Visitation will be Monday November 19, 2012, from 4:00 until 7:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Dr., and on Tuesday, November 20th, at the Prairieton United Methodist Church at 12:00. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor David Lee officiating. Burial will be in New Harmony Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Peigh It Forward Foundation.
