Jeffrey “Jesse” R. James, 46, of Terre Haute, passed away on November 17, 2012 at 1:42 a.m. He was born on September 28, 1966 to John James and Joan Rehl. Jeff worked at United States Penitentiary in Terre Haute for 20 years as a Correctional Officer. He was a sports fanatic, avid Steelers fan, NASCAR fan, and enjoyed golfing. He also enjoyed going to concerts. Jeff was a loving husband and father. He was known for being quick witted and a friend to everyone.
Jeff is preceded in death by his mother Joan Rehl. He is survived by his father John James; wife Denise James; son Jeffrey James; daughter Carissa Yates ( Joe); step son Travis Copas; step daughter Amber Copas ( Kyle Kleptz); brothers Dick James (Anita) and Rick James ( Debbie); grandchildren Gage Copas and one on the way; and nieces and nephews Grant James, Ashley James, Jason James, and Heather James.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday November 21, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E Springhill Drive. A place of burial is still being determined. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday November 20, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
