Elaina Kay Milner, 54, of Terre Haute passed away on May 10, 2014 at 12:33p.m. She was born in Terre Haute, IN on April 21, 1960 to Charles W. Milner and Carole E. (Furnas) Milner. Elaina taught Creative Writing and English at Lakeland Community College, IVY Tech, and most recently at Chauncey Rose Middle School.  She also held a Cosmetology License in Indiana.  She enjoyed reading, writing, playing piano, decorating her home, antiques and candles.

Elaina was preceded in death by her mother Carole E. (Furnas) Milner.  She is survived by her father Charles W. Milner; son Casey Boyed, his fiancée Shelly; daughters Carrie Boyed and Amanda Boyed; grandson Nolan Boyed; brother Brad Milner; sisters Teresa Milner, Cathy Milner, Lori High, her husband Jason; nieces and nephews Andrea Milender, her husband Josh, Jessica Sorrels, Ashley High, and Aaron High.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in DeBaun Funeral Homes Springhill Chapel, 85 E Springhill Drive, with Rev. Jeff Lee officiating.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00a.m. until service time.  The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Shizuko ‘Susie’ Littrell, 83, of Terre Haute passed away May 13, 1014 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.  She was born in Hokkaido Japan on March 31, 1931 to Junji and Tetsu Ishida.  She was a homemaker that was totally dedicated to her family, spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved to sew.  Her survivors are her husband, Charles Littrell whom she married on September 21, 1955; her daughter Charlotte Reed and husband Alan; her son Raymond Littrell and wife LuAnn; her six grandchildren Erika Presley and Dave, Raymond Michael Lay, Jessica Nichols and Ryan Nichols, Jacob Reed and Maranda, Suzanne Willis and Tim, and David Reed.  She has several great-grandchilren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. on Friday in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with Rev. Sharon Lee Williams, 72, of Terre Haute, passed away Thursday May 15, 2014 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. Sharon was born on June 21, 1941 in Terre Haute to James M. Deakins and Maxine Snyder Deakins. Sharon was retired from Eli Lilly as an architectural engineer, Sharon had also worked at CBS for many years prior to working at Eli Lilly. Sharon was a member of the Methodist Church, she loved to crochet, listening to music, reading, playing internet games, bowling, playing bingo, camping and loved animals and spending time with her family and friends. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, James and Maxine Deakins, a granddaughter, Dusty Dawn Walker, a brother; James Joseph Deakins, three sisters; Marilyn Norton and infants, Brenda and Karen, a son in-law, Wade Walker and her former husband and father of her children, Marvin Glenn Hooper Sr. Sharon is survived by her husband, Paul Williams, whom she married April 12, 2011, one son and his wife, Marvin Glenn Hooper Jr., and his wife Susan of Paris, IL., one daughter, Cathi Sue Walker of Seelyville, a stepdaughter, Melissa P. Wright and her husband Erik, of New York. She is also survived by two sisters; Rita Nuss and her husband Charlie of Seelyville, IN., and Janet Hapenny also of Seelyville, IN. Two grandchildren; Wade Lee Walker and Ashley Lee Hill. Two step grandchildren; Alex Wright and Mary Wright and one great granddaughter, Lily Wunderlich and nieces and nephews. Funeral services are planned for Monday May 19, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN., 47804. Visitation is from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, burial will follow at Highland Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Kyle Andrews will be officiating. Gary L. Keith, 78, of Rockville passed away Saturday May 24, 2014 in his residence. Gary was born June 20, 1935 in Universal Indiana to Earl and Sara Hamilton Keith. He attended Staunton High School, Indiana State University, and U.S.A.F.I. He retired from his job in civil service, as well as being a farmer, truck driver, and auto body repairman. He was an honorably discharged member of the United States Marines. He served in the 1st division 5th Marines in Korea and the 3rd Marine Division in Japan. Gary was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Phyllis Englehart Keith, one son, Devin Keith and his wife Sherry of Rockville, two daughters; Lynn Flood, and Sue Lawson and her husband Roger both of Rockville, one brother; Jack Keith and his wife Dixie of Clifton Tennessee, one sister; Betty Rose Tucker and her husband Larry of Ohio, eight grandchildren; Robert Flood and his wife Tammy of Rockville, Cody Flood and his wife Stacy of Rockville, Dustin Flood and his wife Penny of Montezuma, Heather Wilson and her husband Pete of Terre Haute, Heidi Mace of Rockville, and Megan Joshua and Gabriel Keith, all of Rockville, he is also survived by eight great grandchildren; Harlee, Kaden, and Jonathan Flood of Rockville, Brooke Mace of Rockville, Kason Flood of Montezuma, Kendall Wilson of Terre Haute, McKayla Canfield, and Kenley Arney. Gary is also survived by many other friends, family, and loved ones. As were Gary’s wishes, cremation has been chosen with no services to follow. Betty L. Palmer, 82, of Terre Haute passed away Monday May 26, 2014 in Meadows Manor East. She and her husband were the former owners of Helen Williams Shoe Store. Betty was born July 10, 1931 in Evansville, IN to Earl Reynolds and Sarah (Brammer) Williams. She is survived by daughters, Bonnie Wild and her husband Stephen of Sarasota, FL and Beth Diel of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Lori Wild, Randall Wild and his wife Robin, Joshua Dowell and his wife Jessica, Sarah Lochard and her husband Steven; great grandchildren, Kendall Wild and Luke Wild; sister, Patty Irving and her husband Donald of Plainfield, IN; brothers-in-law, Reverend James Palmer and Bob Cutsinger and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Luther “Babe” Palmer who died October 14, 2007, brother, Robert Earl Reynolds, and great grandson, Stephen Randall Wild. Betty was a member of Victory Christian Center. Visitation will be Saturday May 31, 2014 from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm in DeBaun Funeral Home, Wabash Avenue Chapel, 2425 Wabash Ave. with funeral services at 12:30 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Shawn Riggs officiating. Edythe Jane Jeffers, 83 of Terre Haute passed away Thursday May 29, 2014 in Springhill Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born October 22, 1930 in Terre Haute to Frank E. Lee Sr. and Cynthia Shumard Lee. She had previously been employed by R.H. Donnely and was also a member of the Barbour Avenue United Methodist Church. Edythe loved collecting antique dishes and going to auctions anytime that she could, but family was always the most important thing in her life. She had a special place in heart for them, and held her grandchildren and great grandchildren especially close. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother; Frank Lee Jr., and her beloved dog Muffy. She is survived by her loving husband, Gerald “Gig” Jeffers, one son; Jimmie Jeffers (Polly), one daughter; Jeri Driskill, six grandchildren; Benjamin Jeffers (Renee), Matthew Jeffers (Angie), Kara Jeffers (Jeremy), Jill Wilson (Greg), Bryan Driskill (Crystal), and Jane Driskill, as well as nine grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many other friends, family, and loved ones. Funeral service for Edythe will be held Saturday May 31, 2014 at 11:00 am at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute with Pastor’s Bob and Kathy Roush officiating. Paul L. Kixmiller, 88 of Terre Haute, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 3:00 PM in Cobblestone Convalescent Center.  He was born June 9, 1925 in Freelandville to Louis Kixmiller and Emma Due Kixmiller.  Paul was a 1943 graduate of Freelandville High School.  He was a farmer, worked for Packaging Corp. in Vincennes, then was employed with Pillsbury Co. until he retired, & had served as past president of Bethel Church in Freelandville.  He was preceded in death by parents, along with his brothers Earl Wayne, Herbert, Roy and Harold Kixmiller, as well as a sister, Miriam Jerrell.  Survivors include his wife Audrey C. Kixmiller—whom he married August 25, 1946 at Bethel Church.  Also surviving are two sons, Daniel P. Kixmiller & wife Linda of Freelandville, Jeffrey L. Kixmiller and wife Debra of West Terre Haute, one daughter, Cheri Carrithers of Odon, and a foster daughter, Cheryl Norton & husband Randall of Terre Haute.  In addition, Paul has two surviving brothers, Kenneth Kixmiller and Arthur Kixmiller.  Other survivors include 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Celebration of his life will include services at Bethel Church in Freelandville on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 11:30 AM, with Pastor Mike DeCoursey officiating.  Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.  Visitation is scheduled for Monday, June 2, 2014 from 4-8 PM at United Methodist Temple Church in Terre Haute, and again on Tuesday from 10:00 AM -11:30 AM in Bethel Church.  If friends so desire, memorial contribution may be made to either  United Methodist Temple, 5301 South US Highway 41, Terre Haute, IN 47802 where he was a member OR to Bethel Church, 13673 E. State Road 58, Edwardsport, IN 47528.  Arrangements are under the direction of DeBaun Springhill Chapel.

Melvin Dale Miller, 84, of Terre Haute, went home to be with the Lord on May 28, 2014 in Union Hospital. He was born on July 2, 1929 to Tilman Howard Miller and Leona Grindle Miller in Rosedale, IN. Melvin loved and served in the United States Army in the Korean War. He is a lifetime member of the VFW #972 and American Legion #290. In High School he played for the Rosedale Hot Shots. Melvin retired from General Housewares after working there for over 40 years. He was an assistant scoutmaster for Troop 434 for the Boy Scouts of America and was in the Order of the Arrow. He coached The Little League Ball Club, and was an Associate member of Hello Dollers Club. He attended and was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church. He collected toy cars, trucks, and airplanes. He shared this hobby with his grandsons and great grandchildren.
Melvin is survived by his widow Hazel Miller; son Mark D. Miller; daughter Marla Wyant and her husband Mike; step daughters Jeanette Melis of Louisville, KY and M.J. Stewart of Terre Haute; grandsons James Melis, Jeremy Melis and his wife Stacey of Kennesaw Georgia, Jason Melis and his wife Vickie of Indianapolis, Joseph Scott Meneely of Ft. Worth, TX, Christopher Wyant of Arlington, TX; brother-in-law, Ervin Gray of Hobart, IN; sister-in-law, Gale Gray of Terre Haute; honorary grandsons Brandon Miller Robbie Haworth and his wife Rachel; honorary granddaughter Krissy Koziatek and Heather Fagg; 6 great grandchildren Devin Melis, Megan Melis, Myah Melis, Max Melis, Aubrielle Melis, Elliana Melis, and an expected great grandchild in October; and special family Randy and Lorretta Fagg, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Delilah Miller, Susie Miller, Nona Spurr, Sadie Peoples, Lucille Wallace, Ruby Nevins, Mary White; brothers Howard “Hod” Miller, and Austus “Austie” Miller.

Salesman and Rita Rennae Cox Salesman.  Jeremy is survived by his wife Lauri Matherly Salesman, 2 daughters, Krystal Coleman and Kourtney Coleman, and 1 son, Austin Perron, and 2 grandchildren, Kylee Coleman and Kyra Coleman.  Also surviving is his father, Roy D. Mary was born November 25, 1926 in Vigo County to Oscar Whallon and Cecil (Lowish) Whallon. She is survived by step-sons, Benjamin Bockhold, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Rockville and Donald Bockhold of Bloomingdale, IN; step-daughters, Barbara Connerley and her husband Joe of Noblesville, IN and Charlotte Russell and her husband Mike of Kingman, IN; daughter, Kathy Murray and her husband Bob of Joliet, IL; step daughter-in-law, Debbie Bockhold; 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Benjamin Bockhold, Sr. who died in 2000; step-son, Raymond Bockhold; brothers and sisters, Ennis Whallon Sr., Virgil Whallon, Ernest Whallon, Donald Whallon Sr., Wayne Whallon, Ruth Anderson, Geneva Strahle, Esther Delaney. Mary was a member of the Wabash Valley and Rockville Senior Citizens Club. She was also an avid bowler since 1946 and has been on several bowling teams in Terre Haute and Rockville. Visitation will be Tuesday June 3, 2014 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm in DeBaun Funeral Homes, Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Thelma I. Stone, 92, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday May 31, 2014 in Springhill Village. She was a beautician for 30 years and owner of The Capri Beauty Salon. Thelma was born March 26, 1922 in Terre Haute to Riley Wineinger and Era (Dillion) Wineinger. She is survived by her son, David and 2 grandsons, Scott and Will. She was preceded in death by husband Joseph L. Stone who died December 21, 1984. Thelma was a member of the Daughters of the Nile for over 30 years, a member of the hairdressers association, and an avid golfer. Paul Theodore Markle, 76 of Terre Haute passed away Thursday May 29, 2014 at 10:40 pm in Signature Healthcare of Terre Haute. He was born to Richard and Mary Beach Markle on April 22, 1938. Paul was an 8 plus year veteran of the United States Marine Core. He enjoyed working with his hands and making many things out of spare parts he would find along his ventures. He loved to hunt cans and write poetry. Paul was a very loving person and never met a stranger. He was the man that will always be remembered for giving a new friend a hug rather than a handshake. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife; Ramona South Markle, and two brothers; Jim and John Markle. He is survived by three children; Teddy Markle and wife Dolly, Paul F. Markle and his wife Jamie, and Teresa Wilson and husband Tim, three grandchildren; David Wilson and his wife Amber, Loretta Markle, and Elizabeth Markle and her companion Hunter Laing, on sister; Ann Markle of Tennessee, three sister-in-laws, Marthann Markle of Marshall, Illinois, Polly Brink of Casey, Illinois, and Elaine South of Terre Haute, two brother-in-laws; Ted and Fred South of Shelburn, Indiana. Paul is also survived by several adopted children and grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, a very special Angel; Misty Cochran, and all of his dear friends at Brownstone Manor. Dallas Ray Stoelting, 76 of Terre Haute, passed away at 10:55 AM on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in Union Hospital, after a brief battle with cancer.  He was born in Westphalia, IN on September 18, 1937 to Eric Stoelting and Ruth Thomas Stoelting.  Dallas was a retired meat cutter from Kroger, and was a member of the United Commercial Food Workers Union, as well as the Bicknell Elks Club Lodge # 1421.  He is survived by his wife Susan Stoelting, whom he married October 27, 1962.  Also surviving are two sons, Kent Stoelting (wife Julie) and Brent Stoelting (wife Julia), as well as his beloved grandchildren;  Brenna Steele (husband Justin), Wyatt Stoelting, Dillon Stoelting, and Jackson Stoelting.  In addition, he has one brother, Richard Stoelting and one sister, Marquitta Richardson and several nieces and nephews.  Dallas loved to travel & enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.  A memorial service will be held in DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 7:00 PM, with Pastor Teresa Higus officiating.  Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in DeBaun Springhill Chapel.  Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Bethel Cemetery in Freelandville, IN.  The family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Wabash Valley, in his memory.

Mark E Bailey, 88 of Terre Haute, passed away at 6:46 am Friday, May 30, 2014.  Born on July 29, 1925 to Charles E. Bailey and Daisy (Snodgrass) Bailey. He was a United States Marine Corp Veteran of WWII, who served in the South Pacific. He retired from the Indiana State Police Motor Carrier Division in 2001 after 44 years of service. He was also a member of the Social Lodge No. 86, F. & A.M.  He is survived by Alberta R. (Slusser) Bailey, the mother of his three sons, Ronald E. Bailey, Mark S. (Steve) Bailey (Melody), and Randy C. Bailey; brother Marion Bailey (Phyliss); grandchildren Tamara L. Cochran (Phil), Trishla D. Hawkins (Jay), and Brock A. Bailey; great-grandchildren Jacob R. Hawkins and Lily T. Hawkins. He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers. Visitation is Friday, June 6, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 pm at DeBaun Springhill Chapel.
