Jesus “Joe” Guevara, 80, of Terre Haute went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 31, 2014. He was born on February 18, 1934 in Isabella, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Jose’ and Maria Guevara.
Preceding him in death were a sister Iris Guevara and a brother Robert Guevara.
He was a retired Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force with twenty years of service to his country. Serving in three wars, World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Following his military career, he retired from the salon industry after owning and operating his own salon for more than thirty years.
He was married to Pamela Hudson on June 21, 1968, and she survives. Also surviving are his sons, Anthony (Tony) Guevara and his wife Angie and their children Taylor, Nic, Chloe, and Zac of Terre Haute and Andrew (Andy) Guevara and his wife Nichole and their children Ryder and Adelyn of Charlotte, NC. Also surviving are Beth Ann Puntney (sister-in-law) and husband John and nieces and nephews Kevin & Brian Lowe and Laura Horton; great nephew Justin Dollahan and great nieces Emily and Bailey Horton, Cassie Lowe and Macy Lowe.
Joe will be greatly missed by all his numerous friends and family- but when asked how he was he always replied with a joyous smile “ If I was any better I’d be in Heaven!”
Visitation will be Tuesday November 4, 2014 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm in DeBaun Funeral Home, Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Dr. Funeral services will be Wednesday November 5, 2014 at 3:00 pm in First Baptist Church of West Terre Haute with Pastor Jeff Augustus officiating. Burial will be in Durham Cemetery with military graveside honors.
