Betty Harbrueger

Betty Lou Harbrueger, 85, of Terre Haute, passed away Saturday August 2, 2014. Betty was born on November 8, 1928 in Terre Haute to Lester Norris and Mary Caldwell Norris. She had worked formerly worked at A.P.&S Clinic, Shaw Equipment Company and for the Vigo County School Corporation as a teacher’s aid. She was a member of Mt. Aetna Baptist Church, loved game playing games especially Yahtzee and word circle. She was a big fan of NASCAR, loved watching re runs of The Golden Girls, Law and Order, Indiana Pacers, Vanilla Ice Cream and will be remembered as a very giving person who enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold Harbrueger whom she married February 6, 1949, he died July of 1884. She was also preceded by an infant son, Kevin Harbrueger, two brothers; Robert Norris and Raymond Norris, a son in law, Estel Brenton and a great grandchild, Kelsey Nicole. She is survived by five children, Sons; Richard Harbrueger and his wife Jane of Cruthersville, IN., Bill Harbrueger and his wife Betty of Knightsville, IN., Charles Harbrueger and his wife Lynn of Terre Haute, two daughters; Vicky Brenton of Mt. View, MO., and Jane Smith and her husband Jim of Terre Haute. She is survived by eleven grandchildren; Michelle Godbey and her husband Dwayne, Michael Apfel, Joshua Harbrueger, Amanda Harbrueger, Joseph Harbrueger and his wife Laura, Doug Harbrueger, Nichole Cox and her husband Chris, Amy Harbrueger, Megan Harris and her husband Brandon, Janarae Smith and her boyfriend Kreig Wallen and Jaden Smith. Services are at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday August 6, 2014 at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN., 47804. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, Rev. Randy Hittle will be officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, the contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
