Jerry Allen Sears, 72, passed away on July 10, 2014. Jerry was born and raised in Terre Haute, and attended Gerstmeyer High School. He was a U. S. Army Paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, KY. Upon completing his service, Jerry returned to Terre Haute and worked at S&G Excavating. Jerry went on to own and operate his own construction company, J.A. Sears Inc. for 20 years. Jerry’s family and friends will remember him as a larger than life presence that loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was preceded in death by his father; Floyd Sears, and his mother; Hazel Robbins Sears. He is survived by his wife; Sandra Sumner Sears, children; Dena Irwin, Robin (Masood) Mortazavi, Jerry (Amy) Sears, Holly (Morgan) Sullivan, and Tom (Holli) Rudolph, one sister; Kay (Tom) Hunt, one brother; Jimmy Joe (Peggie) Lewis, eight grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. As were Jerry’s wishes, cremation has been chosen with a celebration of life to take place at a later date.
