Amelia Higham

Amelia Higham, 85, of Seelyville passed away with her family at her side Wednesday July 9, 2014 at 12:15 pm in Cannon Inn. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Amelia was born April 9, 1929 in Seelyville to Steve Marcinko and Amelia (Cholvadt) Marcinko. She is survived by son, Steve Higham and wife Marcy of Terre Haute, Scott Higham and wife Sharron of Michigan, and Joe Higham and wife Susan of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Greg Higham and wife Lisa, Andy Higham and wife Kristi, Ashley Smith and husband Sylas, Jared Higham and Javier Higham; great grandchildren, Kylie Higham, Cole Higham, Mallory Higham, Parker Higham, and Mason Smith; sister, Mary Wassel of Terre Haute and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband James “Jim” Higham who died in 2005, brothers, Steve Marcinko and Joe Marcinko; sister, Helen Setzer and grandson, Jackson Higham. Amelia was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Seelyville and she loved to attend family gatherings and to go camping. Visitation will be Friday July 11, 2014 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm in DeBaun Funeral Home, Wabash Avenue Chapel, 2425 Wabash Ave. with funeral services on Saturday July 12, 2014 at 10:30 am in the funeral home with Father Bernie LaMontagne officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (envelopes will be available at the funeral home)
