Farmersburg dateline:

Roy Sartor, 76, of Farmersburg passed away January 7, 2014.  He was born on June 29, 1937 to Lowell Max and Winifred Marie (Goodman) Sartor.   He had been employed as a mold maker for Midland Glass Company and belonged to the American Flint Glass Workers Union.  His memberships include being a life member of North American Hunting and Fishing Club, Pimento Masonic Lodge # 293, Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, Zorah Shrine, Shelburn American Legion # 197, and was a captain with the Linton Township Volunteer Fire Department.  Roy served in the US Navy from 1953 until 1962 and received the National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Service Award, and the European Occupation  Medal.   He is survived by his sons Troy Sartor and his wife Laura Felix, and  Jeff Sartor and his wife Robin;  two daughters Carla Bemis and her friend Eddie Ridge, and Shawnee Smith.  He has one brother Paul Sartor and his wife Mary Lou, and one sister Pauline Brookover.  There is also two special friends and caregivers  Ruth Dalton and Madeline Morris.  His grandchildren are Michaela Carleen, Maegan, Jaynie, Natasha, Shane, Adam, and Lindsey and he has several great-grandchildren and his special dogs Ruby, Heidi, and Tequila.  Funeral services are scheduled for Monday at 1 p.m. in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with Rev. Al Riggle officiating.  Immediately prior to the funeral, Pimento Masonic Lodge will conduct their memorial ceremony.  Calling will be from 10 a.m. until service time.  Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery between Shelburn and Hymera with military rites offered by a joint detail from Shelburn, Sullivan, and Hymera American Legion Posts.  Online condolences may be offered at www.debaunfuneralhomes.com
