Gladys Helton Albright, 96, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013 with her family by her side. She was one of twelve children, born October 19, 1916 in Bloomington, IN to Ezra Helton and Bertha Mae (Shaw) Helton. She married Claudys P. Albright on April 11, 1936. Together they owned and operated Albrights’ Restaurant, which is now Bev’s Restaurant on south 25th St. in Terre Haute.
She is survived by her two daughters; Judith Ann Liffick and Claudia Jo Davis. She also left behind one son-in-law, Rev. Ralph Davis, 6 grandchildren, one grandson (Michael P. Davis, deceased), 13 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, 6 sisters, 5 brothers, 1 grandson, and 1 son-in-law, Clyde Liffick.
Gladys had a love for the Lord her whole life and was saved when she was fifteen years old. She dedicated her life to ministry first at Gospel Tabernacle, later Bethel Apostolic Church, and finally Christ Temple. She had a love for God’s Word. She consistently spent time reading her Bible, and her knowledge of Scriptures was well known.
She loved her family and friends. For most of her life she enjoyed cooking for others and being hospitable in her home or at church dinners and/or functions. Her homemade noodles were one of her specialties. Church and family were her greatest joys. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Dr. with funeral services on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 1:30 pm in the funeral home with Rev. Ralph Davis officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
