Jean M. Penman, 105, of Terre Haute passed away Thursday April 11, 2013 at 11:55 AM in Meadows Manor North Nursing Center. She was born September 19, 1907 in Lesmahagow, Scotland to Christopher Wright, Sr. and Elizabeth (Burnside) Wright. Jean was wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who faithfully maintained correspondence with her family in Scotland until she was past her 100th birthday. She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Betty Tuttle Cox of Terre Haute; a grandson, Jeffrey Tuttle of Terre Haute; step grandchildren, Jeffrey Cox of Florida and Deborah Cox of Florida; step-great grandchildren, Andrew, Jonathan, and David Cox all of Florida; a first cousin, Jean Burnside Clarkson of Dearborn, MI and several other cousins in the Dearborn and Trenton, MI area. Jean was a member of the Clinton Presbyterian Church, a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a former member of the Job’s Daughters. Visitation will be Monday April 15, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 pm at Callahan-DeBaun Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Ave with funeral services at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor David Rockhill officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. If friends so desire, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Maple Avenue United Methodist Church.
