Sharon Lee Walden, 66, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 1:47 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2017, in Union Hospital at Terre Haute. She can finally be in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and her husband Mickey that she loved so much. She was born Oct. 18, 1950, at Terre Haute. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mickey Elbert Walden, on Feb. 2, 2016, after 48 years of marriage. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Chris and Mike Tewell of West Terre Haute; two sons, Mickey Walden and his wife Julie of North Terre Haute, and Bob Walden of West Terre Haute; three sisters, Dorothy Jean Peters, Cindy Kelley (Herb) and Sheila Westra (Jim), all of Terre Haute; a sister-in-law, Linda Kirby of Terre Haute; three grandchildren, Austin Tewell of Winslow, Ind., Amara Tewell of West Terre Haute and Matthew Walden of North Terre Haute; several nieces and nephews; and her dogs, Reba and Sammy. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Hershel Kirby Jr., Lucille Kirby and Essie Kirby; and a brother, Edward Kirby. Sharon attended many churches and always read her Bible. When she would talk to you the Lord would always be mentioned. The last church she called home was the West Terre Haute Assembly Of God. She loved all birds but bluebirds were her favorite. She would feed and talk to them, sitting on her porch, and couldn't wait for the eggs to hatch. Sharon was a strong woman who loved her family dearly. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Roush officiating. Burial will be in Livingston (Ill.) Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until the service time Thursday. The family kindly suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association with envelopes available.
