Richard Todd Gibbs, 34, Terre Haute, passed away Feb. 18, 2017. He was born June 21, 1982, in Terre Haute, to Richard David Gibbs and Karen Penick. Richard had a great love for the outdoors; he enjoyed camping and especially fishing. He was a family man, and loved spending time with his children, family, and extended family. He loved to spend time outdoors with his son, as well as playing games on the Xbox. He loved to watch movies with his daughter, and spend time hanging out with his many nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed playing pool with friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Jane Hutchinson; cousins, David Hutchinson and Kari Strain; a nephew, Bryce Britton; and a great-aunt, Veneta Benton. He is survived by his parents; his wife, Savannah Gibbs; a son, Hunter Gibbs; a daughter, Alyssa Gibbs; a sister, Virginia Huey and her husband Josh; grandparents, Sam and Annabelle Gibbs; parents-in-law, Kenneth and Joyce Shepherd; sisters-in-law, Jessica Pine and her husband David, Tina Burns and her husband Trent and Amanda Julian and her husband Jim; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Services for Richard will be Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at 11 a.m. in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute. A visitation is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, from 5 until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Highland Lawn Cemetery.
