William J. Funk Sr., 84, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016 in Clarksville, Tennessee at Grace Healthcare. He was born January 1, 1932 in Terre Haute, Indiana to James Alonzo Funk and Marie Engle Funk. He was a mechanic, who loved working on cars. William served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was the chauffer for the neighborhood and would give a lift to anyone who needed one. He was very good to his wife of 43 years. He devoted every second to her during the last ten years, when she was ill. He was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church and loved his family very much. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Kathleen Funk, sons; Kenneth Kintner and Michael Lee Funk, brothers; James Funk, Odis Funk, Jessie Funk, John Funk, Marion Funk, Kenny Funk, and Fredrick Funk, sisters; Evelyn Nevins, Melba Swordling, Shirley Funk, Dorothy Armstrong and Betty Funk. He is survived by his son William Funk Jr. and his girlfriend Andrea, daughter, Belinda Trueblood and her husband Darrell Trueblood, daughter –in-law, Kathy Kintner, grandchildren; Kenna Kintner, Jeremy Funk, Michael Funk, and Taylor Trueblood, brothers; Charles Funk, Richard Funk, Larry Funk and Clarence Funk, sister; Peggy Cude. Services will be Monday, March 14, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street Terre Haute, Indiana 47804 with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Pastor Gene Jeffers will be officiating; burial will be at Durham Cemetery. Military honors will be presented at the cemetery by the VFW Post 972.
