Marilyn Plant Sals,born in Terre Haute on July 26, 1927, Marilyn married Dick Hawkins of Terre Haute in 1944 and had a daughter Pam in 1946. In 1954, Marilyn married Howard Sals of Chicago and relocated there where her son, Jim, was born in December of that year. Marilyn raised her family in Chicago and loved being a homemaker. After being widowed in 1983, she had an interesting job as a medical analyst. Marilyn returned to Terre Haute in 2006 where she passed away on February 16, 2015 with her son Jim of Lockport, IL by her side. Her daughter Pam and her husband Bill reside in Sarasota, Fl. Marilyn was the last surviving sibling in her family. She has four grandchildren, Jimmy, Bobby, Max & Joe as well as five great grandchildren Aja, James, Savannah, Johnathan and Joseph. In addition to her family, Marilyn loved cooking, decorating, shopping for bargains, helping others and her little dog Phoebe who is now living with her son Jim and daughter in law Jan Sals. Following Marilyn’s wishes, her remains will be buried in Chicago next to her husband Howard Sals who died in 1983. DeBaun Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
