Michael Lee Barcus, 64, of Farmersburg, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, October 30th. He was born on October 21, 1950 to William Raymond and Mary E. Barcus.
Michael was a 1968 graduate of North Central High School and went on to receive a degree in chemical engineering from Rose Polytechnic Institute in 1972. He was a life-long farmer who had a passion in caring for the land and experiencing God through His creation.
Michael attended Beyond the Walls Outreach Ministry, was a member of The Gideons International, and a member of the Board of Directors of The Master’s Class Community Christian School. He had a heart for reaching the lost and helping those in need.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Michael is survived by his wife Rita (Lee) Barcus of 39 years; two daughters, Jodi McClure and husband Todd, Tammy Martin and husband Jason, and a son, Tim Barcus and wife Anna; grandchildren Carter, Abby and Kate McClure, Tucker, Will, Maggie and Jackson Martin, and Riley and Levi Barcus. Also, his mother, brother Steve and wife Susan, sister Mary Beth Strain and husband Randy and sixteen nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Beyond the Walls, The Master’s Class or The Gideons International.
Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Monday, November 3rd at DeBaun Springhill Chapel. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 4th, at 11am, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel with Revs. Jeff and Chris Lee officiating. Online condolences may be offered at www.debaunfuneralhomes.com
