Ada Lucille Cruse, 93 of Terre Haute, passed away at 5:33 AM on Friday, October 24, 2014 in Westminster Village Health Center. She was born in Riley, IN on October 29, 1920 to Alonzo Baker and Alice Luvena Lidster Baker—the 10th of 14 children. Ada worked throughout her life at several different places including Allis Chalmers, ISU, St. Anthony Hospital, and South Vigo High School. She loved to bowl, work puzzles, crochet, travel, and be with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph Edward Cruse, Sr., and a daughter-in-law, Jayne Hilton Cruse. Also preceding her in death were brothers Raymond A. Baker, Richard J. Baker, Carl E. Baker, Ruben L. Baker and Lavone L. Baker, and sisters Helen M. Hedley, Mary Kathryn Crump, Edith M. Baker, Dorothy L. Greemore, Lorean Engle, and Norma J. Sullivan, Louise Kauffman, and Geneva F. Jannelli. Others preceding in death were a grandson, Michael A. Cruse, great grandson, James J. Shepherd, and a great great grandson, Seth Greene. Ada is survived by two sons, Joseph E. Cruse, Jr. of Terre Haute and Larry L. Cruse (Jennifer) of Terre Haute, and a daughter, Carolyn “Susie” Hall (Dale) also of Terre Haute. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; Carla Cruse (Dave), Wanda Gross (Steve), Angela Greene (Charlie), Lori King (Dallas), Greg Cruse (Shari), Brent Cruse, Cheryl Hoesman (Don), Jamie Bozarth, and Gerald Hall. Others survivors include 21 great grandchildren, 27 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be held in the Mausoleum at Roselawn Memorial Park on Monday, October 27, 2014 at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Steve Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of DeBaun Springhill Chapel.
