Carrie McKanna

Carrie L. McKanna, 77, of Terre Haute, passed away Tuesday September 9, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family. Carrie was born on November 13, 1936 in Terre Haute to William and Ruby Warren. Carrie was retired from Vigo County School Corporation as a school bus driver, she had also driven a school bus for Sacred Heart School and Schulte High School. Carrie enjoyed gardening and especially her flowers. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James E. McKanna who passed away March 2, 2007 after 49 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Jane King. She is survived by three sons; Jim McKanna and his wife Katy, Joe McKanna and his wife Susan and Jay McKanna and his wife Missy, all of Terre Haute. She is survived by one daughter, Jan Techentin and her husband Bob of Rochester MN. Three brothers also survive; Tommy, George and Bill Warren. She is survived by grandchildren; Jimmy McKanna and his wife Allison, Rick McKanna and his wife Tracy, Jake McKanna and his wife Tiffany, Heather Sullivan and her husband Ryan, Jessie McKanna, Kasi McKanna, Mike Techentin and his wife Laura, Dani Techentin, Matt Techentin, Kari Techentin, Tim Techentin, Cassidy McKanna, Caleb McKanna, Heath Daugherty and Alainna Daugherty. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church at 2232 North 13 ½ Street, Terre Haute, IN., 47804, Father Steve Giannini will be officiating. The rosary will be said at 3:30 p.m. on Friday at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN., 47804, visitation will immediately follow the rosary until 8:00 p.m. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church or St. Ann Clinic, envelops will be available at the funeral Home.
