Daniel G. England, Sr. 63, of Terre Haute, passed away at 6:30 PM on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Terre Haute on September 21, 1950 to William G. England and Margaret Mossteller England. Dan was an auto mechanic for Dorsett Automotive. He was a member of Union Christian Church—where he served as an Elder. His other memberships and interests include: The Christian Motorcycle Assn., “Run For Riley Kids” motorcycle benefit run created by Dan and his wife Judy, the Terre Haute Eagles Lodge, Hunters Helping Hunters, and the Cloven Hoofs (former member). He is survived by his wife Judy Butts England, sons Daniel G. England, Jr. and Gene England, and step-father, William Swickard, Sr. Also surviving are his step-children: Shaun Slinkard, Heidi Slinkard, Dennis Henderson, Jr., Lana Robinson, and Denise Coakley and sponsored child Joyce Nakasenge of Africa. In addition, Dan is survived by his brother Don England, and two sisters, Mary Gentry and Linda Cooper, four step-brothers and sisters, William Swickard, Jr., Ron Swickard, Betty Wiggins, and Linda Hapkin, and 15 grandchildren, Dagon, Lacey, Dylan, Anna, Brodee, Jakob, Erin, Alex, Raven, Derek, Jackson, Colin, Dominic, Carter, and Bailey. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, William Ralph “Butchie” England. Funeral services will be held in DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 1:00 PM, with Mark Grayless officiating. Burial of his ashes will follow at a later date in Highland Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, August 2, 2014 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the funeral home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to “Run For Riley Kids”, c/o Riddell National Bank, in his memory.
