Joseph W. Liston, 91 of Terre Haute, passed away at 10:10 AM on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Vigo County on October 22, 1922 to Edgar Liston and Archie Price Liston. Joseph was a retired engineer for Penn Central Railroad. He is survived by two daughters, Rita Greene (& husband Jerald), and Patricia Sanders (& husband Robert). Also surviving are two sisters, Betty Kester and Janet Little. In addition, Joseph is survived by four grandchildren; Stephen Greene, Gregory Sanders, Michelle Sanders, and Kimberly Sanders, as well as five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marguerite Johnson Liston, his son Michael Liston, his brother James Liston, and two sisters Mary Katherine Clingerman and Joann Thomas. Joseph was an Army Veteran, having served his country in WW II and a member of the Riley American Legion. Funeral services will be held in DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 2:30 PM with Rev. Marvin Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Farmersburg Westlawn Cemetery.
