Amelia V. Turner, 101, of Terre Haute, passed away April 17, 2014 in her residence. Amelia was born on October 17, 1912 in Terre Haute to Charles Wallworth and Amy Taylor Wallworth. Amelia was a member of Maplewood Christian Church and was the former manager of Art Compton Cleaners and the former owner of The Gateway Cafe. She was a member of the Women’s Club of North Terre Haute, Sunshine Club at Maplewood Christian Church, Ladies of the Moose, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, she loved to cook for her family and friends and loved spending time with her children and grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Russell L. Turner who died in 1988, two sons; Jim Kirkham and Larry Kirkham; one daughter, Jean Kellams; one brother, Bill Stuart, one sister, Maxine Clark and a granddaughter, Kathy Kirkham. She is survived by five grandchildren; James Forrest, Jeff Kirkham, Robbin Kirkham Lubbehusen, Amee Cox and Kandy Kirkham as well as many great and great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Services will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN., 47804. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Pastor Craig Winninger will be officiating.
