Robert Max Waterman, 88 of Terre Haute, went home to be with the Lord while surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 3:25 AM in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Prairieton, IN on January 5, 1926 to Henry L. Waterman and H. Irene Manhart Waterman. Robert was a retired diesel mechanic from Pfizer, and a WW II Army Veteran—having served in Germany. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Geneva Copeland Waterman. Also surviving are his two sons Robert C. Waterman (& wife Kathleen), and Roger A. Waterman (& wife Cheryl). Also surviving are four grandchildren, Angela Bridges (& husband Levi), David Waterman, Mary Waterman (& husband Chris Williams), and Elijah Waterman, as well as three great grandchildren; Logan Bridges, Noah Bridges, and Hannah Williams, and also by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Waterman and Warren Waterman, and one sister, Rosamary Sharpe. Robert was a member of Prairieton United Methodist Church—where he and Geneva were long-time Sunday School Teachers. Funeral services will be held in DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Jeff Lee and Rev. Duane Caperton officiating. Burial will follow in New Harmony Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, April 18, 2014 from 4:00 -8:00 PM in DeBaun Springhill Chapel. For those who so choose, memorial contributions may be made to the Prairieton United Methodist Church, in his memory.
