Robert (Bob) Lloyd Randolph, 66, of Terre Haute passed away at 12:43 a.m., Saturday April 12, 2014 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Terre Haute, IN to Robert M. Randolph and Beatrice Lyon Randolph on May 25, 1947 at Union Hospital. Robert graduated from Wiley High School in 1965. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Safety Management from Indiana State University. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he received The Purple Heart. He served 4 years in the United States Navy and retired as Sergeant from the Unites States Army National Guard. Bob retired from the Terre Haute City Police Department as an Officer and he also retired from the EEOC as a Federal Investigator. He was a member of Masonic Lodge and a life time member of VFW #972. He was an active member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, where he started the Celebrate Recovery Program. Bob was also a member of the Emmaus Community, Walk #73. He was rarely seen out without his cowboy hat and boots. Bob loved to spend time with his family. He was a huge John Wayne fan and loved camping, riding horses, and relaxing with his dogs while watching NASCAR.
Bob is survived by his wife of 48 years Gail Jean Randolph; sister Beatrice J. Randolph; son Robert Wayne Randolph and daughter-in-law Jamie Randolph; daughter Michelle Ann Kirkman and son-in-law Tim Kirkman; grandchildren Renee Randolph, Ian and Chelsea Henderson, Zachary Jones, Hannah Randolph, Lea Henderson, Eric Henderson, Lauryn Randolph, Josh Kirkman, Robert A. Randolph, and one great grandson Lucas Henderson. He is also survived by his father-in-law Jake Compton and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday April 16, 2014 at 10:00a.m. in DeBaun Funeral Homes Springhill Chapel, 85 E Springhill Drive. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Pastor Aaron Wheaton, Pastor Rick Swan, and Pastor Billy Jo Henry will be officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday April 15, 2014 from 4:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Bob loved his loyal K-9 companions very much. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society.
