Deborah Kay Nelson, 60, of Terre Haute passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 in her residence. She was born September 19, 1953 in Terre Haute to Robert Harold Nelson and Betty Joan Courto. Deborah retired from Indiana State University where she was the Assistant to the Athletic Director. She was a graduate of Indiana State University, a member of the Wabash Valley Water Garden Society and The Master Gardener’s. She loved frogs and used the saying, “Finer than frogs hair” often. Deborah is survived by her son, Damien Nelson of Terre Haute; her brothers, Steven Courto and his wife, Teresa of Jasonville and Mike Courto of Terre Haute; her sisters, Linda Hall and her husband, Tom of Shelburn and Pam Gregg and her husband, Cameron of Terre Haute. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Rayven Nelson and Ruby Nelson; and several nieces and nephews. In honor of Deborah’s wishes, cremation was chosen with no services.
