Bud Strain, 73, of Cary, NC, formerly of Terre Haute IN, went home to his savior on Friday, November 2, 2012 after a brief illness with cancer. Bud was home with his family when the Lord took him home. Bud was born in Terre Haute, IN on August 24, 1939 to Reverend Elmer and Mary Strain.
Bud is survived by his wife of 40 years, Virginia Strain of Cary, NC; children, Kim Kizer of Danville, IL, Tina Forsythe of Cary, NC, Tracy Pine and Bradley Strain, both of Terre Haute; Siblings, Janet Manley and husband Marvin, Jack Strain and wife Sharon, Bob Strain and friend Juanita, Kenny Strain and wife Sharon all of Terre Haute, Terry Strain and wife Kathy of Indianapolis; three grandsons all of Terre Haute and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bud worked 37 years for Alcan before retiring in 2001. Bud attended Westside Community Church for many years before giving himself to the Lord in 2001.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Karrie Strain and siblings, Elmer Strain, Jr. and Max Strain and his wife Joyce.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2012 at DeBaun Funeral Home on Springhill Road, with Reverend Chris Wilber. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
