Ida M. Shelton, 92, of Terre Haute, passed away at 7:05 PM on Monday, November 5, 2012 in Royal Oaks Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Clay County, IN on September 22, 1920 to Lawrence Thomas and Caroline Powell Thomas. She is survived by her son, James E. Shelton (& wife Judith), a brother, Lawrence Thomas, Jr., and a sister, Bobbi LaCrosse. Other survivors include a son-in-law, Jerry Thomas, and 4 grandchildren; James P. Shelton (& Janet Flowers), Gregory D. Thomas, Jeffrey S. Thomas (& wife Michelle), and Angela R. Thatcher (& husband Steve), as well as several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Cecil Shelton, in 1990, as well as one daughter, Janice Thomas, and 4 brothers and sisters. She was a member of Maryland Community Church and was a Mall Walker. Funeral services will be held in DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Scott Longyear officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in DeBaun Springhill Chapel. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Maryland Community church, in her memory.
