Pauline “Meana” Frances Allen, 64, of Terre Haute, passed away at 10:15 AM on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 in her residence. She was born in Terre Haute on August 17, 1949 to Louis Urbain and Pauline Smith Urbain. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Billy Allen. Also surviving are three daughters, Christina Gilley (and Joe Owens), Melissa Marr (and Danny), and Shannon Allen (& close friend Shelly). She was preceded in death by her brothers & sisters; Vernon “Bud” Urbain, Franklin Urbain, Lilly Franklin, Mary Presnell (her husband Max Presnell survives) Alphonse “Sonny” Urbain (his partner Bea Urbain survives) Clifford Urbain, Louis Urbain, Charles “Chuck” Urbain and twin brother Charles Urbain (his wife Connie Urbain survives), and one infant son. Also preceding in death were two grandsons William Ray Marr and Jestler Bray Marr. Pauline is also survived by her grandchildren Jenessa Gilley, Nitasha Owens, and Joey Owens (& wife Courtney). Pauline was a hairdresser, and her member ships include First Southern Baptist Church, and the Red Hat Society. She loved to cook and help others in need , as well as being a very caring, giving, & loving person. You knew something was wrong if you did not get a card from her at Christmas. She was a natural born shopper and enjoyed eating at Cracker Barrel and The Coffee Cup. Pauline was a very crafty person and loved to crochet and arrange flowers, she was a true artist. She had a perfect memory and even in her last days her thoughts were only of others. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been chosen, with no services scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of DeBaun Funeral Home, Wabash Avenue Chapel.
