DR. STEPHEN CHARLES NASSER, 75, of Terre Haute, Indiana entered the golden gates on Monday, January 20, 2014, at Union Hospital after a lengthy illness. Dr. Nasser was born in Terre Haute on September 15, 1938, to N. George Nasser and Ethel Malooley Nasser. Dr. Nasser was a 1957 graduate of Wiley High School, having played Varsity Football on the undefeated Red Streaks team. Dr. Nasser was a 1961 graduate of Indiana University, located in Bloomington, Indiana, having obtained a degree in Pre-Medicine. In 1969, Dr. Nasser then attended Lincoln College School of Chiropractic , located in Indianapolis, Indiana and obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Biology. In 1970, Dr. Nasser received the degree of Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.). Memberships include: Eagles Lodge, Shrine Masonic Lodge, Strawberry Cannoneers, Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, St. George Orthodox Church, & numerous professional organizations. Dr. Nasser, a well respected Chiropractor who served the Terre Haute and Wabash Valley community as a Chiropractor for the past forty one (41) years and continued to practice up to the time of his death. Dr. Nasser had a vibrant practice and served thousands of patients. Stephen was probably best known for his tardiness at practically every occasion. It became the question of any occasion that Stephen was planning to attend: ³ I wonder if Stephen will make it before it ends.² In addition to his penchant for being late, Stephen was a ³night owl² who would frequent the local coffee shops at all hours of the night, sometimes playing chess with his cousins and friends well into the morning hours. In addition to being a Chess Master, Stephen loved playing poker and was a regular at ³Cuz² Bob Corey¹s weekly poker games. With Stephen¹s passing, the two will enjoy each other¹s company at the poker table once again. He also enjoyed spending holidays with his family & watching football with friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Nancy Bates Nasser and their beloved daughter, Stefani Georgette Nasser both of Terre Haute. Although he didn¹t have any siblings, his numerous cousins were like brothers & sisters to Stephen, including Sandy Malooley Kassis (Bill), Charlene Malooley Wade (Joe), Cathy Malooley Azar (George), Chuck Malooley (Bev), Michael Malooley (Robin), Lorna Malooley (Sergie), Marsha Malooley Irvin (John), Skander Nasser, Jr. (Helen), Betty Nasser Slyby (Bill), Joan Mareena Nasser (Bob), George Nasser, Zianna Nasser Alley, Abe Nasser, Betty Nasser, Marianne Nasser, Wanda Nasser, (Dr. Bill), Beverly Nasser Radez, & Dolores Nasser Polifroni (Tony). Also surviving are adopted brothers: William (Bill) Hanna, Guy Kornblum, Jr., David McNamer, Dr. Tom Morgan, John McFall, Michael McCormick, Jim O¹Grady, Dick McGuire, & Lou Corey, and adopted sister, Marsha Malooley Irvin. He is also survived by his God-Children, Taylor Nasser, Tiah Nasser, & Alexandra Malooley. Dr. Nasser was predeceased by his parents, N. George & Ethel Nasser, several Aunts & Uncles, and numerous cousins including, Dr. Bill Nasser, Sergie Malooley, Bobby ³Cuz² Corey, Bobby Nasser, & George T. Nasser. Honorary Pallbearers are Skander Nasser, Jr., Dick McGuire, John Irvin, Raoul David, Guy Kornblum, Jr., & Kaleel (K.) Ellis. Pallbearers are: Skander (Sonny) Nasser III, Dr. Tony K. Nasser, Michael McCormick, David McNamer, John McFall, Dr. Tom Morgan, George Azar, William (Billy Bob) Radez. Visitation will be held at St. George Orthodox Church, 1900 S. 4th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, on Thursday, January 23rd, 2014, , at 10:30 A.M. In Stephen¹s honor and practice, tardiness will be understood. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 P.M. with the Rev. Paul Matar and Rev. Dn. Elias Corey presiding. Burial will follow at Highland Lawn Cemetery. Stephen will be forever remembered for his eccentric, unorthodox, lively way of life, and never ending story telling.
