Charles Junior Robinson, 78, of Terre Haute, passed away at 7:20 AM on Monday, January 20, 2014 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Vigo County on August 8, 1935 to Charles Robinson, Sr. and Dorothy Wycoff Robinson. He was a retired steel worker from Stran Steel. He is survived by his wife Laura Gillie Robinson, one daughter, Nicole Robinson Strader, and two sons, Mark Robinson and Brian Robinson—all of Terre Haute. Also surviving are three grandsons; Joshua Robinson, Brandon Crews, and Jason Strader, four granddaughters, Ashley Ellinger (& husband Bobbie), Leeanna Herrera, Jaydon Robinson, and Brianna Robinson. In addition a great grandson, Gage Ellinger, and great granddaughter, Brooklyn ellinger also survive. Other survivors include three sisters; Sandy Layton, Charlotte Harden, and Sharon Robinson. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother John, two sisters, Carol and Wanda, as well as two grandsons, David and Justin. Funeral services will be held in DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Larry Spear officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be held in DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Thursday from 10:00 AM – 1:00PM. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses, in his memory.
