Ernest L. Burrell, 66, of Terre Haute passed away Monday, January 13, 2014 in his residence. He was born April 14, 1947 in Terre Haute to William Chester Burrel and Vivian Vanessa Deighton Burrel. Ernest worked in the maintenance department of many foundries in the area and retired from the custodial department of Indiana State University. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, William and Vivian Burrel; sisters, Vanessa Keller, Sharon Stockwell, Linda Davis; and brothers, Bill Burrel and David Burrel. Ernest is survived by his son, Benjamin Burrell and his wife, Penny of West Terre Haute ; and his daughter, Melissa Burrell, also of West Terre Haute. He is also survived by his brothers, Ralph Burrel of Farmersburg; and Don Burrel of Terre Haute; his sisters, Darlene Keller and her husband, Danny; and Mary Ann Smithson, all of Terre Haute; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
