Wright, Charles

Charles R. Wright, 92, formerly of Terre Haute, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014 in Greenwood, IN.  He was born in Terre Haute on December 24, 1921 to Clarence Wright and Edna Howell Wright.  He is survived by a step-daughter, Mary Ann Tucker, a niece, Pamela K. Brown ( husband Oakley), and nephews Howell L. Carter (wife Elizabeth), and Larry Wright (wife Judy).  He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Wright, his parents, a brother, Clarence “Bud” Wright, and two sisters, Vera Carter and Gertrude Wright, and a step-daughter, Bonnie Berg.  He retired from the former Terre Haute Concrete Supply Corporation as Office Manager and Corporate Secretary after 30 years of service.  He graduated from Terre Haute Gerstmeyer in 1940, and was drafted in 1942 and served with the 14th Army Air Force in China during WW II.  His memberships include Terre Haute Masonic Lodge # 19 F & AM, and  was Past Master of Euclid Lodge # 572 F & AM, and was a former member and Past Patron of Twelve Points Chapter # 528 of the Order of Eastern Star.  Other memberships include the Zorah Shrine, Kerman Grotto, Sycamore Country Club, 14th Air Force Veterans Assoc., Life member of VFW Post # 972, and member of American Legion Post # 104.  Funeral services will be held in DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 12 Noon, with Mark Grayless officiating.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, with military rites by VFW Post # 972.  Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday from 11:00 AM -12 Noon in the funeral home.
