Donald Richard “Don” Neuenschwander, 90 of Terre Haute, passed away at 11:48 AM on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 in Union Hospital. He was born in Cedar Rapids, IA on March 1, 1923 to John S. Neuenschwander and Myrtelle Irene Tappen Neuenschwander . He was retired owner of John’s Dental Lab in Terre Haute, and was an Army Veteran of WW II. Don is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth G. Scheifler Neuenschwander. Also surviving are his children John Neuenschwander and wife Elisse, Jerry Neuenschwander and wife Janet, Mary Fouts and husband Mark, and Susan Pultorak and husband Edward. Other survivors include his grandchildren; Don N. Neuenschwander and wife Shanna, Maria Straub, Matthew Fouts, Sylvia Pultorak, Drew Pultorak, Nathan Pultorak, Julia Pultorak, and Lydia Pultorak, as well as extended family Christina Viglietta and daughter Olivia, and Joseph Kirchner and daughter Alexandra. Other survivors include four great grandchildren; Liam Dade Neuenschwander, Emma Marie Neuenschwander, Chase Crabb, and Phillip Joseph Straub. His memberships include; Christ Lutheran Church, Masonic Lodge F & AM, Zorah Shrine, Life Member of American Legion Post # 40, Indiana Chamber of Commerce, and the Clay County Chamber of Commerce. He was active in numerous Dental Study Clubs as well as numerous Blacksmithing Organizations. Funeral services will be held in Christ Lutheran Church, 2331 Poplar St., Terre Haute on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Donna Glazier officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 13, 2013 in DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 4:00 – 7:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00-11:00 AM in the church. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the John C. Campbell Folk School, One Folk School Road, Brasstown, NC 28902, in his memory.
