Mary E. (Robinson) Purdy, 90, lifetime Vigo County resident, passed away August 7, 2013 at Springhill Village. She was born on March 13, 1923 to Manford and Sadie (Darkis) Robinson. Her husband, Paul L. Purdy preceded her in death on July 2, 2000. Mrs. Purdy was a homemaker. She is survived by her daughters Carolee Pearce, Beverly French and her husband Larry, Janet Sims and her husband Jerry, and Kathy Pine and her friend Rick Kackley; two sons Paul L. Purdy, III and his wife Wretha, and Charles Purdy. She has a brother, Manford Robinson, fifteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Hazel Jones and a sister Bonnie Layman. Funeral services will be in DeBaun Springhill Chapel Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Lynn Dunning officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Dunlap Cemetery, rural Clark County, IL. For those who choose memorials can be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Association, or the Union Hospital Hershfield Fund in memory of Mary Purdy with acknowledgements going to Kathy Pine
