Daniel B. Langer “Danny”, 65, of Terre Haute, met his Lord on July 4, 2013. He was born in Terre Haute on February 17, 1948 to William and Mary (Hopewell) Langer. Danny was proud to have served his country in the United States Army, in Special Forces, as a Green Beret. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church. There he was the Bus Mechanic, sang in the choir, and was a Junior Boys Sunday School Teacher. He owned and operated Peffley & Hinshaw Wrecker Service for 35 years. He recently retired this year. Danny was known for having a great sense of humor, being a hard worker, loving animals, being a good Christian, and being a good friend to many. Most of all, Danny loved his family.
Danny is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda (Lee) Langer; son Ross McGrath, his girlfriend Connie; brother Ron Langer, his wife Linda; mother-in-law Margaret Lee; brother-in-law John Lee; sisters-in-law Janet Salesman, husband Jerry, Janice Padgett, and her husband John; nieces and nephews Brian Langer, RJ Langer, Amy Langer, Devin Lee, Kristen Mosley, Elizabeth Salesman, John Lash, and Candice Queen; special friends Jerry Fields, Dave Mallinak, and Pastor Bob Parker; and young people that he mentored Eric, Dave, Alan, and Ashlee. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday July 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in Bible Baptist Church, 2500 Margaret Ave. Dr. Bob Parker, Pastor will be officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Monday July 8, 2013 from 4:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. The family has entrusted DeBaun Funeral Homes, 85 E Springhill Drive, with making arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to the Bus Ministry of Bible Baptist Church, which Danny has taken part of.
