Mable “Tootie” Malone Compton Benjamin, 89, of Terre Haute passed away on April 13, 2013 at 12:24 p.m. She was born October 6, 1923 in Paris, IL to Charles Franklin and Lottie Belle (Meeks) Malone. She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Gail Jean Randolph and husband Bob, Carol Ann Land and husband Tim and brother Pete. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Bob Randolph and wife Jamie, Michelle Kirkman and husband Tim, Elizabeth Cain and husband Oliver. Great grandchildren, Renee’, Hannah, Lauryn and Bobby Randolph, Ian Henderson and wife Chelsa, Eric and Lea Henderson, Josh Kirkman, Zach Jones.
Noah Strassler, Brooklyn, Madeline, and Benjamin Cain and one great-great grandchild Lucas Henderson.
Five step-children, Becky, Christie, Beth, Kenny and Dan and their children. Waiting to welcome her home is her infant daughter, infant granddaughter, mom, dad, husband Ray, brother “Nook”, and sisters Patty and Jackie, She liked playing cards, dancing, painting, traveling, yard sales, and helping family and friends. She was always involved in the planning of family reunions. When asked how she was her favorite reply was, “finer than frog hair”. She was employed by City Hall, Vigo County School Corporation, Operating Engineers, and volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul in Indianapolis. She was cremated per her wishes. There will be a Celebration of Life for Tootie Tuesday from 4-7 at Maryland Community Church on US 46 South.
