Rilda Belle Meneely, 88, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 7:10 PM on Friday, May 10, 2013 in Union Hospital. She was born in West Terre Haute on October 23, 1924 to Charles Holland and Florence Corbin Holland. Rilda is survived by one daughter, Nancy Scott of West Terre Haute, and one son, Jack D. Meneely II & wife Maritza of Naples, FL. Also surviving are her grandchildren Mark Scott, Jay Scott, J.D. Meneely, Morgan Meneely, and Corie Meneely, as well as great grandchildren Haley Scott, Mark Scott, Ellie Meneely, and Jackson Meneely, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack D. Meneely, Sr.—who passed away in 1994, son-in-law, Mark Scott, as well as 2 brothers; Vernon & William Holland, and one sister, Thelma Lyon Bennett. Rilda was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, and worked as a Greeter at Sam’s Club for the past fourteen years. Prior to that, she retired from CBS & also owned her own beauty shop. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She brought great enjoyment to others’ lives, people naturally gravitated towards her. She was loved by all who knew her and became her extended family. A Celebration of Life will be held in DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 3:30 PM, with Bill Dunbar presiding. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 4:00 -8:00 PM in DeBaun Springhill Chapel.
