Anita L. Killion

                   “She was the wind beneath our wings.”

Anita L. Killion, 59, of Hillsdale, IN passed away at 8:14 AM on Monday, April 15, 2013 in Union Hospital Clinton.  She was born in Sullivan, IN on august 1, 1953 to Johnnie Rogers, Sr. and Mary D. Austin Rogers.  She had worked as a UPC Clerk at Walmart in Clinton since 1987.  Anita is survived by her husband Mark E. Killion, Sr., and two sons, Mark E. Killion, Jr. & wife Peggy, and Chad E. Killion & wife Stacy.  Also surviving is one brother, Johnnie Rogers, Jr. & wife Georgia, and one sister, Judi Boyd-Horndasch & husband Ron. Other survivors include her eight grandchildren, Bryce, Isaiah, Ashton, Gabe, and Graedon Killion, Madason Merritt, Austin, and Allen Menser. Her very special friend, Pat Webster also survives, as well as several nieces and nephews.  Anita was preceded in death by her parents, & her sister, Karen Rogers as well as her beloved father and mother-in-law, Cecil Everett and Barbara Jean Killion.  She attended the Life Center Church in Terre Haute. 

Anita considered her most important role to be a gentle and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome and special in her home where she and Mark hosted many July 4th celebrations that attracted family and friends for years.

She adored and loved caring for her grandchildren and that love and adoration was returned tenfold. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.  

Funeral services will be held in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive in Terre Haute on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 10:30 AM, with Rev. Tim Minks officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.  Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, April 17, 2013 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in DeBaun Springhill Chapel.
