LEE, Joan Sep 11, 1933 – Apr 27, 2017

Joan (Ray) Lee, went to be with her Heavenly Father, April 27, 2017. Joan was born Sept. 11, 1933, at home in rural Edgar County near Dennison, Ill. Joan is survived by her husband, Ted Lee, whom she married May 13, 1955; two daughters, Beth Lee and Jana Johnson; two sons, Rich Lee and his wife Lisa and Brian Lee and his wife Michelle, all of Terre Haute; one sister Nema Brown and her husband Jim of Terre Haute; and two brothers, Tom Ray and his wife Kay and Jim Ray and his wife Carolyn of Paris, Ill.; and one brother-in-law, Douglas Timmons of Brazil, Ind. Joan had 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephew; and many cousins. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lucille Ray of Dennison; one brother and sister-in-law, Pete and Ellen Ray; and one sister, Mary Lou Timmons. Joan graduated from Paris High School in the class of 1952. She worked at Allen & Steen in the 1950s and then became a self-employed wallpaper hanger for many years. Most importantly Joan was a wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. The Lees's were well-known for the outside Christmas light display that Joan put on for many years for everyone to enjoy. Joan was a member of Oak Hill Community Church. Visitation will be in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., Terre Haute, on Monday, May 1, 2017, from 5 until 8 p.m. Services are scheduled for Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation also will be before services Tuesday, from 12 noon until 1 p.m. Pastor Tim Fagg will officiate services. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, in Riley, Ind.
