STEIN (DELISLE), Suzanne Mar 6, 1948 – Apr 17, 2017

Suzanne Alice Stein (DeLisle), 69, of Fishers, Ind., passed away on April 17, 2017, in her residence. Suzanne was born in Vincennes, Ind., on March 4, 1948, to the late Admiral DeLisle and Susan (Craddock) DeLisle. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Vincennes in 1966. After various moves in early adulthood, she lived in Brazil, Ind., for 13 years. There, she was a full-time mother; became involved in Summer Showcase theater; and began working for Haag/Peoples Drug Store, where she was promoted to assistant manager for stores in Brazil and Terre Haute, Ind. Suzanne moved to Terre Haute in 1989 when she married Benton "Ben" Stein and worked by his side at Rogers Jewelers in Terre Haute until they sold the store and retired in 2010. She loved her family, poetry, sketching, bad puns, reading mystery novels, her dog, Junior, and listening to music of "her era" like the Association and the Everly Brothers. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Benton Stein, in 2016. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 23, in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call from noon until the service time. Survivors include her daughter, Suzanne (Chris) Edwards of Avon; three grandchildren, Corwin Egbert of Austin, Texas, Catrien Egbert of Chicago, Ill., and Savannah (Chuck) Warren of Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hamilton County Humane Society, in recognition of the companionship she received from her dog, Junior, who was adopted there.
