FAIRVIEW [mdash] Charles S. Gedrick Sr., 93, of Fairview, died at 10:59 p.m.Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, in Fairview. He was born May 14, 1923, in Clinton, to Alexander Gedrick and Mary Rusnick Gedrick. He married Norma Wagner on Jan. 29, 1949. He was employment at Ziegler and Murdock Coal Mines. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Clinton and Clinton One Half Century Club, Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norma (Jan. 20, 2016); three brothers, John, Joe and Anthony; and five sisters, Millie, Elizabeth, Ann, Mary and Helen Norma and "Chuck" raised five children, whom all survive, Charles (Kathy) Gedrick Jr., Marsha (Butch) Zucca, Clida (Jim) Perry and Dottie (Ron) McCormick; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and also several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian burial will be 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, Sacred Heart Church, with Friar Savio officiating. Burial is in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Clinton, with military graveside honors conducted. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the church.
