Ellen K. Hodson, 74, of Terre Haute, passed away Saturday October 25th 2015 in Union Hospital surrounded by her family. Ellen was born in Sullivan County on March 20, 1941, to Chad Stoops and Virginia Watts Stoops. Ellen was a member of Maryland Community Church and had a strong relationship with the Lord. Ellen’s passion in life was serving the Lord and bringing people to the Lord. She was a retired elementary school teacher, retiring from Ouabache (Wabash) Elementary school. She was a graduate of Indiana State University holding a Bachelors and Masters degree. She was a passionate volunteer at The Crisis Pregnancy Center and Kids Hope. She was a member of Vigo County Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed playing cards with her sisters and especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert “Stony” Hodson in 2004, her sister Carol “Sue” Stonebraker in 2014 and a step son, Scott Hodson. Ellen is survived by two children, a daughter, Dala Graham of Terre Haute and a son, Lance Crewes of Clayton, IN. She is also survived by step children; Andy Hodson of the Philippines, Michael Hodson of Terre Haute and Morgan Jones of Ellettsville, IN. She is survived by her twin sister, Helen Kellett of Terre Haute, two nephews; Jeffery Kellett and his wife Rhonda and Michael Kellett and his wife Lisa, fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday October 30, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Maplewood Christian Church, 2000 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN., 47804. A gathering for family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the church on Friday. Dr. Vince McFarland will be officiating. Care and arrangements were entrusted to Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to The Crisis Pregnancy Center, 530 Wabash Ave., Terre Haute, IN., 47807, envelopes will be available at the church.
