Jim graduated from Red Bank High School in 1975 and received his forestry degree from Chattanooga State. He was a firefighter at Red Bank Fire Department for over 10 years. He was employed by Ferguson Enterprises in Chattanooga for 10 years, then worked for Industrial Supply in Terre Haute for 16 years. He most recently worked for Kimball Midwest.

Jim was an avid outdoorsman. “Sawbriar” never met a stranger. He loved to joke and laugh with the people he cared most about, who were many. He was so generous with his time, always lending a hand to family, friends, and neighbors, who all comprised one large extended family. Most of all, he doted on his daughter Morgan, and supported her in all of her endeavors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice or to the Exotic Feline Rescue Center (EFRC) 2221 E. Ashboro Road, Center Point, IN 47840.
