Eunice Marie (Johnson) Osburn, 90, lifetime Terre Haute resident, passed away June 2, 2015. She was born on March 12, 1925 to Al and Lois Marie (Gilchrist) Johnson and they have preceded her in death. She also was preceded by a sister Eleanor Maureen Hauser and her brother, Robert Leonard Johnson. She is survived by her children Keith (Jackie) Osburn of Lebanon, OH, Chris (Debbie) Osburn of Amherst, NH and Kathy (Edward) Mathena of Indianapolis. Her grandchildren are Lynne and Eric Beard of Indianapolis, Tracey Osburn of Lebanon OH, Keith Allen and Jennifer Osburn of Bexley OH, Jason and Rania Osburn of Plano TX, Kelly Osburn and Greg Kindl of Uxbridge MA, Lauran and Matt Canady of Indianapolis, Adam and Megan Mathena of Indianapolis, Sarah and Robert Allen of Sunderland MA, and Hannah Mathena of Indianapolis; great-grandchildren Kimberlyn and Katie Beard, Hunter and Jacob Osburn, Logan and Parker Canady, Lydia Mathena, Nico and Ava Osburn, and Jenny and JT Kindl. Mrs. Osburn was a graduate of Wiley High School. She also graduated from ISU with a Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics and Education in 1982. She was a substitute teacher for the Vigo County School Cooperation for many years and was employed at Terre Haute Day Care Center as the assistant manager. She was a lifetime member of the Central Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, Deacon and as a very active member of her circle, the choir and caterer for many church events including the 150th anniversary of the church. Eunice was also a founding member of the Fox Valley Presbyterian Church in Geneva IL. She had been actively involved in the Girl Scouts of Central Indiana as a leader and district coordinator, a member of DAR, and a member of Lambda Delta Phi sorority. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at DeBaun Wabash Avenue Chapel, 2324 Wabash, with Rev. Lant Davis officiating.
