Opal L. Clark

Opal Louise Clark of Prairie Creek, In. passed on to Heaven April 13th.  She was born to Romulus and Elnora Cooper April 8th, 1926.She was a graduate of Wiley High School and worked at Goldie’s Restaurant as a teenager in downtown Terre Haute  for 10 cents an hour and also worked for local distilleries before her marriage to Herbert Clark, Jr. on October 5th, 1946 after he returned from WW ll.  She then lived on a farm and was a wife, mother and home-maker.  She and Herbert were married 65 years when he passed.  She was a member of Prairie Creek Wesleyan Church and Prairie Creek Home Economics.  Family still on Earth include her children Bruce (and Barbara) Clark and Sherri (and John) Andrews, 9 grandchildren,  Troy and Erin Clark, Seth Clark, Butch (Amy) and Greg (Bobbi) Burns,  Eric (Tori) Mildazis, John Oak, Forest (Julie) and Cidy Andrews.  She has several great-grandchildren.  She also has a sister, Helen Juanita Hayhurst and sister-in-law, Helen Cooper.  She has several nieces and nephews, one a very special nephew, Harvey Hayhurst, Jr., who helped with many things.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She enjoyed being with family and friends.  She loved to cook and is famous for her sweet tea,  Her true hobby was devotion to her family and kindness to others.  Visitation will be at DeBaun Springhill Chapel Friday, April 17th from 4-8 PM and Funeral Service is 1:00  PM Saturday, April 18th with Pastor Terry Fennel officiating.  She will be buried at Lykens Cemetery.
