Paul M. Strole, 77, passed away on April 1, 2015 at Union Hospital. He was born on March 9, 1938 to Frank and Mary (Shepard) Strole and they have preceded him in death. Mr. Strole had taught school in the Delphi, IN area in his earlier life and had also been employed as a substitute teacher with the Vigo County School Corporation. As a second career, Paul was a shoe salesman and retired from that profession while employed at Elder-Beerman, formerly Meis Department Store. His enjoyments in life were his family, playing tennis, fishing, and water skiing. He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Cline) Strole; daughters Cindy (Gary) Dersch and Christy (Eric) Donnenhoffer; sons Rick (Angela) Rollings and Christopher (Dawn) Strole; grandchildren Amy (Scott) Logan, Brian Rollings, Hannah Donnenhoffer, Haley Donnenhoffer, Justin Strole, and Dylan Strole; great-grandchildren Austin Logan and Elijah Logan; and cousins Denny (Sandy) Shepard, Gary Shepard, Jimmy Shepard, and Jon Ludwig. Funeral services will be in DeBaun Springhill Chapel at 1 p.m. with Rev. Daniel Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time. For those who choose, memorial contributions in his memory can be made to the American Heart Association.
