Harold Eugene Loyd, 91, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away March 16, 2015 in Union Hospital. He was born January 14, 1924 in Riley, Indiana to William Loyd and Sarah E. (Amerman) Loyd. He worked on the railroad for 32 years. He owned Loyd Trucking, built homes, bought houses and flipped them. He was a member of Railroad Union, VFW #972, American Legion 104, United Transportation Union Local 1399 and 1518, Masonic Lodge 19 F&AM, and 78th Lightening Division Veterans Association. He served in the United States Army. He received a Purple Heart and four Bronze Stars. Harold adored his daughter, his granddaughter, and his great grandkids. They meant the world to him. His buddy was his grandson-in-law Rick. The sky was the limit to what he could do! He was a man with many achievements. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Marie (Higginbotham) Loyd; daughter Marsha Loyd; “his second daughter”, Cindy Faught; granddaughter Tracey Loyd Deverick, her husband Rick; great grandchildren Gage Haase, Alyssa Hensley, Abbigail Deverick, and Robert Deverick; nieces and nephews Jill Clinkenbeard (Paul), Linda Garber (Jimmy), Carol Tyler (Tim), Terri Wyatt (Scott), and Howard Cowan; sister-in-law Shirley Cowan; several cousins; and Tammy Sue his beloved four legged buddy. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law Virginia and Herman Juergens; his favorite uncle and best friend Wayne Amerman; and his favorite friend and brother-in-law Leland and his sister-in-law Donna Higginbotham; and several aunts and uncles. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 1:00p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804. Pastor Chris Wilbur will be officiating.
